Treasure planet is one of my favorite disney movies, the characters development is so complete, to the point that the "villain" leaves behind his dream (The Treasure) for Jim, coming to see him as a son.

I still have the disk, when it first came out. I was only 2 years old when the movie itself came out, and my parents had bought the disk for me. When i was old enough to actually watch tv and understand people, I used to watch this movie constantly, even bothering my parents to let me have the tv late at night just to watch it, not giving a fuck if i had school in the morning. 20 years later, and i still tear up at Silver's speech. All through my life i'd always thought he was one of the greatest father figures, despite being a pirate lol.

What a nice story! This film It is in my best standards, the characters are so natural and believable. And like you said even a freaking pirate turned out to be the biggest support to Jim and backwards.
