Probably the most underrated creations of Jim Henson .

Heartbroken and devastated to hear that John Hurt has passed away. To me, you'll always be The Storyteller. Brilliant actor and one of the greatest actors ever in my opinion. U will be missed. RIP John Hurt.

Sad as it is, we still have another with us, Michael Gambon. If only he could find a way out of that Maze... Nonetheless, RIP John Hurt.

@@OddOneOut665excuse me, John hurt is no longer with us. Show respect to him. i dont care, Michael Gambon was shit as the storyteller, your comment is vile and disgusting.

The Storyteller has been one of my favourity series in my childhood!: beautiful and magic sceneries, interesting tales, and a cute dog. Unforgetable. The best.

I don't understand all the comments saying that this show was creepy or disturbing like all of mr. Jim Henson's work I loved it I'll always remember the first episode I watched the soldier and death
@GESSO2174 жыл бұрын
There were some creepy elements, but I still loved the show as a kid. Still do. I think the first episode I saw was The Heartless Giant.

OF COURSE it was a little creepy and disturbing, that's what fairy tales are SUPPOSED to be. That's how they teach us to deal with all the horrible crap that life is going to throw at us.

Watching it as a kid there were some bits that gave my nightmares/made me scared of the dark, but that never stopped me enjoying it. So it was creepy, but also still just so good and lovable.

"When people told themselves their past with stories, explained their present with stories, foretold the future with stories, the best place by the fire was kept for the storyteller." R.I.P. John Hurt, thanks for your amazing stories in this and in your movies.

Keep in mind, he also played the narrator in “The Tigger Movie”, as well.

I’m waiting for Netflix to make a new series of this. After the success of the Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance this show could be seen as the next of Jim Henson‘s works to see a glorious comeback.
@PeterDoornbos19813 жыл бұрын
Amen to that! Or at least the entire series on Netflix or Disney+. I must say that the Greek Mytholygy series didn't make me warm...Lol the Storyteller, Viking Mythology told by Ragnar Lothbrok 😁

They’d have to get a really good actor to replace John Hurt, but yea, I’d love for them to do another series like this

I remember loving this show and also being so scared of it at the same time lmao. There was one episode that I still remember to this day but I can't remember what it was about. I just know it was a creature that he captured in a sack and it looked really weird XD Edit: IT WAS THE DEATH IN A BAG EPISODE
