The first time I heard this song I was driving through western Nebraska between 5 and 6am, returning home to Minnesota from Tucson, and the sun greeted me and those Nebraskan hills perfectly, without a cloud in the sky. The video complements that memory so incredibly well and I cherish my memory even more having seen it.

The first time I heard this Jim James song, '' I want a new life '', it was a summer, I can't remember which one, I was riding on a quiet country road in Lanaudière, Québec , on a soft night. The sky was clear, the full moon was low on the horizon, red, announcing a hot day ahead. The lyrics of this song matched my mood then, in search of a new life. Although the video clip is ridiculous, I still enjoy Jim James again and his beautiful voice singing "I want a new life". I'm still in the same way of life pattern despite the gestures and efforts made to change my life, stumbling at the vagaries that prevent me, without despair however, because everything comes to the point who can wait, isn't it.

Le ciel était clair, la lune pleine était basse à l'horizon, rousse, annonçant une journée chaude à venir. Les paroles de cette chanson concordaient avec mon état d'esprit d'alors, en quête d'une vie nouvelle. Bien que le vidéo-clip soit ridicule, j'ai toujours plaisir à réentendre Jim James et de sa belle voix chantant '' I want a new life ''.
