Rockets are considered advanced weapons technology, therefore anyone working at the company needs security clearance, which only citizens have a chance to get. FYI, Elon's other companies are among the most diverse. For example Tesla's former CFO was openly gay, and a significant percentage of the leadership aren't white. Also, Elon himself was an illegal immigrant for a while.

As a retired Navy veteran and commercial truck driver that delivers to Space X (Vandenberg & KSC @ Roberts Rd) both require being a US citizen, clean background, 2 photo IDs just to get into the perimeter to deliver equipment, stainless etc. With the materials and government contracts that Space X works with, there shouldn't be anyone on the payroll that couldn't pass a Secret FOUO background check at any given point of the HR hiring process.

Refugee does not = illegals. Please pay attention to the video. The DOJ discovered SpaceX was not following an Act SIgned into Law in 1952. This act protects those Refugees GIVEN LEGAL STATUS - Meaning NOT Illegals - This means they are LEGAL and therefore should have every access to employment.
