As great fan of Enter the dragon and Bruce Lee I still remember Jim Kelly's role in that movie very well, although the length of his role was rather short... Sad to realise that only three years after this interview (in 2010) he died of cancer... A great sportsman has gone to his maker 😊 👌

Ppl are dumb. Bruce Lee doesn't get a rep of being one of the greatest because of movies. When great fighters say "yeah this man was great at fighting/martial arts". Hm should make you think. Bruce in his weight division would of destroyed everyone, he is the grandpa of mma. He integrated all Martial arts. Maybe research would help some of y'all. :)

I also cross trained with Master Gordon on and off from 1992 thru late 90's. I really like Jim's Character, demeanor and not bragging about things, but being truthful and sincere. reminds me of my self. Thank you for this wonderful interview and video. "I'm very particular about the type of image i put on screen" and yet his charater in enter the dragon is much more stereotypical black than he seems to be. People don't really act like that in real life unless they're modeling themself after people who they've seen act that way on TV. It's still a good character, but he is sort of feeding negative stereotypes a bit by portraying it.

Wow first of all thanks for this video!!! Thanks Jim for giving Bruce Lee the respect that he deserves, even if he's been deceased for nearly 50 years. Jim worked with Bruce so he had the opportunity to see first hand what Bruce can do!! Today you hear these punk behind wanna be's that say they can beat Bruce. But they claim to be fans of he's. First of all how can you what you can't see!!! Michael Jai White stated that he can beat Bruce, because he's bigger!!! Really!!! I don't think so. Bruce was way to fast!!! And strong as hell!!! No disrespect to Michael, he's good at his craft, but he couldn't take Bruce and that's a fact!!! Next Steven Segal stop telling lies that you trained with Bruce and that you can take him. Why because your 6 ft 4 , really!!! I just wanted to let you good people know that I back Jim Kelly up a 100 percent about how good Bruce really was. Peace and love!!!!!

@KatoFilms Really?? I had no idea John Saxon had anything to do with the script, i wouldn't have thought he was that big of a star back in 1973 to make such demands, was it because he was the white star? Well anyway that's a shame that in a Kung Fu/Action movie, a Martial Arts expert gets second billing to an amateur character actor...ALSO! Theres NO WAY Bolo would've gotten his ass kicked by Saxon in real life, that was an embarrassment to Bolo"s skills and his reputation. To get it in the nuts

As a teen, I actually attended a tournament where his school sparred against Chuck Norris; unfortunately, all his students lost. An many of them had poor sportmanship. Jim Kelly stood there looked on very quietly. He didn't look to happy at all. LOL! However, I still admired him. He was pretty good in his own right; but, as an actor. Nope...
@JustThink0014 жыл бұрын
@KatoFilms you know him? are you the guy in the video? I'm just very skeptical about celebrities. Seems like all of them do whatever it takes to make money, and half of them loose their souls in the process. Of course even worst case scenario he's still probably one of the better ones. He seems very down to earth and it's obvious he takes martial arts seriously.
