PSU for the first time in program History is 100% all in on football. People have assumed for years PSU had major investment into Football. That is false! Franklin has fought tooth and nail to get so many things at PSU whether it be facilities, money, coaches, etc. PSU even under Joe Paterno wass never all in on football. OSU and UM have always been. Now we will see what happens when PSU invests all their money snd resources into Football. If you dont believe me. Go watch Josh Pate recent video he made last night about this. PSU recruiting could see a major boost too. Overall program looks to be trending up. As a psu fan. Im excited. Let anyone hate all they want. PSU officially said enough is enough.

Idk, Knowles was never known as a big recruiter and I doubt he will be during his PSU tenure. PSU has a tough time getting the right offensive skill players and Knowles won’t change that. Sucks seeing him make the jump to PSU as his defenses are always great, but I’m sure OSU will be fine.

How is this a massive upgrade? PSU’s defense has been legit for years. Knowles as to introduce a complex scheme, which might take a couple years to be effective. More importantly, the guys running his defense were in the system for three years and we're seniors. That is far from the case at PSU. There's an argument that this would be little increase in a Netty or bust year for PSU.

They need a quarterback change. The offensive coordinator needs to get rid of all those tricky gadget plays that he's incorporated into the play book. They desperately need to recruit wide receivers as there's no deep threat in their passing game. Offensive wins games, Defense wins championships.

@Krysiisx2 күн бұрын
The only reason OSU was so talented on D this year is because they retained all of their juniors for their senior year. Penn state just did the exact same shit they have 6 nfl players coming back. You don’t know shit about PSUs roster
@Jrm-xs9qi2 күн бұрын
@ now go look at pennsyates recruiting classes the past five years and compare it to Ohio’s. Your talent is not even close to equivalent of Ohio’s talent. It’s not in the same world.
@collegefootballwithsam2 күн бұрын
It would be absurd to say PSU has the same talent as OSU's 2024 defense, but the Buckeyes lose a lot of key players now and Penn State returns more. The Lions have also done just about as well as the Buckeyes have at DL and LB over the past two years (I would argue better on the DL) when you look at on-field performance, it's been DB that has heavily leaned OSU. The point I am making is, don't be surprised if Knowles fields an elite defense in Happy Valley in 2025.

@nickma712 күн бұрын
This move makes no sense except for one way. It doesn’t make sense for Penn State either. If you remember, the Ohio State defense in 2021 was…. ass. Knowles did a very good overall job of fixing a bunch of problems. Each year was better than the previous. One constant though was giving up a lot in big games. The one point loss at Oregon with no sacks of Gabriel comes to mind. And in the rematch they sacked him eight times and shut him down. In fact the defense changed after that game to rotating more defensive lineman among other issues. I think this is a big middle finger to Ryan Day and Ohio State. Because he didn’t like what went on behind the scenes. That’s just my guess from outside the fishbowl. Because Penn State didn’t have a defensive problem. In the last 10 years every one of our games is tight and low scoring and a pain in the ass.
