For a very BRIEF moment in time, it looked like even Jim Morrison felt the "I-better-wear-a-suit-and-join-the-establishment-in-some-way" pressure. Especially with a Navy dad. He was probably temporarily flattered when they said: "Hey, you're the best looking kid in this school, do you want to be in a movie ??" Hard to believe these crew-cut sweater guys were still around in 1964 just a couple years before EVERYTHING changed. These people were still living in a Pre-Beatles time warp. Also hard to believe that Hendrix, Zeppelin and Sabbath were just a few years away.

When you look at the footage from 1964 and compare it to film from a mere two or three years later, you can see how massively society changed. Almost too quickly to catch up psychically. This clip is reminiscent of the '50s in both style and sentiment. It's hard to wrap my brain around even just Jim's change in appearance. I always wonder, how the hell this video was recorded !! Does anyone have the answer??? Was Jim preparing some documentary for school or something??? I just don't know !!

A friend, who also made films, invited Jim to act in it, while he was still a FSU student. Some time later, this friend says that Jim disappeared from the university and that he thought that Jim had decided to study acting. However, Jim had gone to UCLA.

@@lemurianchick Yes; it's the same film. And you are right: it's not art film. This guy, who were Jim's friend, made the film for the university. However, as I've read about it some time ago, I don't remember the details of the story and I also don't remember where I've read it.

The film was made by fsu this is only a short clip. The whole thing can be found on Florida memory I believe. It was a video to encourage investing in universities. It talks about Florida’s educational history, current (for the 1960s) situation, the growth they expect as well as what they’ll need in order to accommodate it.

He did attend for a short while , and I have the mug shot of him from a drunk and disorderly bust . University of Florida in Gainesville , he never attended , though G'ville was a much hipper town .

This is comparable to the rejection of Hitler's application to art school, and led to a similar drastic change in career path. It's nevertheless poignant how Miami eventually pardoned Jim for flashing his todger in '69 and that the State university posthumously bestowed upon him an honorary degree in Lizardology. His soul shall no more writhe in mute nostril agony

@@lindyprimo9025 Thats true Jim was being convicted on zero evidence by the daughters of the police so they could save their careers for arresting Jim in the first place. Jim said it himself all the witnesses were related to the policemen.
