There's so many ways to interpret this cover, but I choose the repetition and eventual blurring of the notes into one sound-mass to represent the universality of the "Fast Car" story. After a million interlocking repetitions, the tragedy behind this song just turns into a numb background. I'd be curious to see what Tracy Chapman thinks of this.

I prefer it over Tracy's by a vast margin, but they are *both* gonna endure. And that's ok.

Probably cause your head needed to ache. It's hard to undo, to take away what has clawed at one's existence. This song however harbours that primitive state that makes you so vulnerable oh so perfectly, you can sit back and stand in front of the charging spike rush hail storm with open arms as you reflect on and reflect what the earth has laid before you, one to the next as the next to one as one and the next are the same. That's why this song is beautiful, that's why life is too long to waste, why control is useless, give it up already.
