After all this time watching I just noticed your channel icon. Hooah! Keep up the good work man. We'll get back to normal soon enough hopefully. Untill then the thought of all the music being made behind close doors atm has me excited for what the festivals we'll be like when we're back up and running. It's going to be concert heaven when shits back up.

I love the fact that Jim even as a professional guitarist isnt afraid to admit that he’s still learning on guitar and there’s still things that he doesn’t know about this instrument even though he’s played it for years. He’s a great guitarist and it’s still plenty of technical techniques that he doesn’t know yet but that definitely didn’t hinder his success at all, that’s motivating. Plus the guys just incredibly humble

fr i mean even the greatest drummer of all time neil peart kept learning from a teacher even in his later years. It’s really just a matter of respecting how vast knowledge there is to learn on instruments or anything in that matter

man this is way better and more genuine that most premier guitar rundowns. the fact that jim actually knew who you were, reached out to you, and actually wanted to chat with you, not just letting you talk to his tech, really makes a big difference from being told by a manager that there's a journalist there to talk to or something. also he offered to let you pay his rig! must have been an amazing day

I love how the majority of proper metal players disdain the custom-shop flummery and go for off-the-shelf stuff... Like Tom Araya passing up an ESP custom-shop bass in favour of the LTD one, and our man Jim here. My attitude is rooted (pun intended) in this philosophy. FX, for example. 1) if you cant do it with BOSS, you cant do it 2) Why WOULDN'T you do it with a pedal you can get in any shop in the world, rather than have your tone dependant on some obscure boutique pricey nonsense? Love Jim Root, love his music, his attitude. And this is a great channel; SUBBED

Don't care for slipknot too much...they got big when I was in middle school and every metal punk or scenster and there cat loved slipknot so me think I was all punk wasn't about to jump on a bandwagon...that being said I have his mim tele and holy friggin shit. My neighbor/family friend has a usa tele which hasn't ever been played and I was shocked to find the quality on the mim tele seemed just as good. This was my 1st opinion but I took it to my luthier(lol he's old af) and he said the same thing. He also told me buying a usa strat is so dumb. Just get a mim and take it to som1 like him.
