Lex was the one who has a history of physical violence dating back to his college years where he was considered a loose cannon and a horrible teammate. Lex also had MAJOR financial power over Liz. When i heard the 911 call, I was pissed. At the situation and largely at Lex. That was my gut reaction. I felt that he was kinda whiny on the call and expecting someone else to save her, but he was the only one there at the time. I don't hold him responsible for any choices Liz made or trauma she suffered prior to being with him that might have gotten her into booze and drugs, but that seemed like a really lousy time for him to be indecisive. Plus there was a domestic dispute earlier involving them, where Liz suffered far too much damage for it to have been an accident. So that didn't help at all, but in support of the point being made here, she DID stay with him even after that. So yeah, bad choices on both sides. I know Lex has tried to turn his life around and help other guys stay clean, so I give him credit for that. But similar to Benoit, my perception of him is different now. He didn't kill Liz, but it's hard to shake the idea that he might have been able to save her with a little more effort. And that more effort was put into bad behavior. And you know what, I don't feel like the Hall of Fame has been hallowed ground since Sunny, so it's hardly too good for Lex, someone who actually shows remorse and helps the company to this day.

So even if she drank a glass of wine here and there she was taking the pain pills due to the accident lex caused and also after the accidental death of liz the police raided his home and found drugs steroids and pills which were in Liz system . so Lex may not have choked her. But lex was not innocent.
@corey22322 жыл бұрын
He was arrested on SPECULATION of abuse because of some bruising, but was proven innocent, just as Elizabeth said he was. She didn't have 2 black eyes...and he wasn't charged. Her autopsy concluded zero signs of physical abuse, just noted old bruising around one eye but not from assault. Luger was on HGH & heavy steroids at the time, she was 140 lbs... he would've destroyed her with a single punch. She told police they had 2 large huskies she was walking, got tangled in their leash, & tripped up on the sidewalk with the dogs. For anyone that owns large dogs, it's VERY conceivable that happened...especially walked by a 140lb woman. With her leg scratches & light bruising from the time, it lines up way more than being hit by a roided out 280 lb giant & barely having anything beyond a bit of bruising.
@pandaloon6083 Жыл бұрын
@@corey2232 "Proven innocent." -- Can you point me to where and when that happened? I don't recall a trial. I do recall an autopsy report, but no forum in which the allegation was adjudicated. Luger has stated what you state: that if a giant of man like him were to hit her then it would have been apparent. Maybe. I suppose that would depend on how and how hard he struck her. It's not necessary for him to have "destroyed" her. From what I gather, the police were called because a neighbor heard them quarreling. Neighbors don't typically call the police when a woman trips over a dog leash. Why didn't police prosecute? Perhaps because the victim/complainant is also the chief witness. Without her testimony there is no case. Why would she not testify? Well, it could be because nothing happened. Or it could be because publicity would reveal her to be his mistress, would lead to questions about why he hit her, would lead to investigation about possible drug abuse etc. Easier to blame it on the dog. I don't know what happened. I know his story is plausible. But I also know he has reasons to lie. While she...isn't here to tell her side of the story.

If you notice, Elizabeth's appearance changed from early 1999 to her final appearance in May 2000. More toned (among other changes). Word is, this was the time that she was in a relationship with Luger. She began putting in more time, better time, at the gym and kitchen. Would it be fair to credit Luger somewhat for this improvement in her fitness and appearance? His influence playing a positive role? If so, would it be unfair to blame him for being a negative influence vis a vis access to drugs and the reduced stigma in taking them? If we can praise Lex for suggesting she take B12 vitamins that helps her work out more, why can't we criticize Lex for suggesting that she take Vicodin to help her calm her nerves about {whatever it was she was anxious about)? And if her nerves need calming precisely because of some of his actions, then wouldn't the criticism be even easier to justify?

He put Medusa in, and if walking out on the company is the reason why Luger isn't in yet, then what Medusa did was way worse, and she still went in. That said, and I do believe Luger belongs in, what the hell are the qualifications for being inducted into the WWE HoF, anyway?

@Goldnfoxx3 жыл бұрын
@@jimbowlan5804 I mean, I always liked both guys, to be honest. Savage and Rude both showed that with the right partner, you could get really good stuff out of Warrior. Lex's charisma always seemed non-existent, but it added to the realism of the whole thing for me. You don't need to have great charisma to beat someone up, and Luger always looked like he could mop the floor with you. Both belong in, imo. My issue is that what even IS the Hall of Fame? We're getting to the point that the qualifications for getting in to the thing are 1) you're still on good terms with the company, and 2) you had fans.

That's a major issue with wrestling. Wrestling promotors want you to believe the character is the person in order to sell tickets. Then when real life hits thats when everyone wants to go "hey wait everyone, this is just a character". This isn't a "the fans are judgmental" situation, wrestling companies doing "worked/shoots" created this mindset in the fans.

I was always a big Elizabeth fan and I couldn’t believe when she passed away in 2003! But after many years I openly admit that she was living in a dark world! You can’t blame Lex because he couldn’t force her to be in a relationship and doing the things they did! It is easy to blame Lex! I am happy that he found GOD and changed totally! Liz went from a 2 times married woman to a married man’s second choice! From a woman that traveled so much in her wrestling days to a woman who was so confined in a house near the end of her life! Life with Lex at that point was a total mess, from drug abuse to problems with the law to physical fight (2 weeks before she died)! A very sad ending of her later life! I wish she could have realized on time that big changes were needed to recover her life! RIP Liz!

Ok, let's get real here.... Lex tells us different versions of what actually happened the night of her death. True, she is a grown woman at the time, but him being her man, he was influential in her choices, especially when there were massive amount of drugs found at his/her house when they investigated after her death. Let's not forget the incidents prior to her death....the domestic violence case he got because of the brave neighbor that called the cops, plus when he got pulled over when miss Elizabeth was in the car, he was drunk and they found a gun. Point blank, she should hav been taken care of.

Good points here. Too many women in life playing the victim card for their own poor behaviors and getting a free pass, especially in this day and age. The big ugly pink elephant in the room is that Elizabeth's monumental contribution to wrestling history was mostly her looks. Truth. Kind of funny they refer to Luger as the best that never WAS. I mean he won the World Heavyweight Title twice, I'd say he WAS. Even if they were short runs. Not to mention he was in every major faction including the nWo and the Horsemen. Luger racking Hollywood Hogan on Nitro was one of the most awesome moments in wrestling history.

Conrad to me that seems like is some carny fairground nonsense. I think it'd be better to have higher personal standards than that. We don't know a lot about the southern states in Ireland. But reputationally southern men have integrity and character. I have trouble seeing that here. This is a discussion of a man whose narcissist gimmick was supposedly a rib on his personality. That met a woman known for being in codependent relationships with some famously unstable men. The end result of which was the violent abuse of the woman followed by her death.The proof is in the pudding. It seems like moral relativism Is being used here to excuse the man and by extension everyone who had the ability to intervene and didn't. If it's arguable that women in abusive relationships like Ms Elizabeth have a responsibility to themselves when it's a highly emotional issues and everyone's sympathy goes out to them. Then arguing that the people around them have a responsibility towards them too should be an easy reach. They were all in a position to take on that responsibility, they had an ethical duty to take on that responsibility and they all absolved themselves of that responsibility. Pillorying the woman posthumously in the name of those people that abandoned her. Doesn't seem like the thing to do.

I don't blame Lex for what happened to her. I do believe her decisions caused this end, though i will say a huge part of me wishes she had never left Savage. And an even bigger part of me wishes Savage had found that perfect balance between protective and lenient with Elizabeth. A part of me tells me Randys worst fears came true. And he had to stand by and watch it happen. Im glad he remarried and found happiness but... theres always going to be a part of me that says "Randy and Elizabeth are together back in Heaven." With him putting her on his shoulder. Idk, but one can hope i suppose.

In certain situations, it doesn't matter if your spouse is obsessive or possessive, the line is blurred and gives way to chaos. Abusive relationships never look like how we imagine them, or the way they're portrayed. I just feel sorry for all three.
@uttermanbo3 жыл бұрын
People say Randy was a control freak. He was, but I don't think he was ever abusive towards her. I think he remained friends with her till his death, but we need to lay blame on Elizabeth as well. She wasn't some child who was groomed. She was involved with an overprotective spouse in Savage, then tried many things that led to her early death. Luger was abusive, but he didn't kill her. It's just a tragic tale. I never heard if there was any heat between Savage and Luger after her death. Knowing how Savage tried to shield her to the point of being overprotective, I feel he blamed Luger. I just can't imagine him putting her death on her. He viewed her as a wholesome girl next door. I would have liked to hear how Savage felt before his passing in 2011.
@philliplandry41392 жыл бұрын
I'd heard he was tore up about the situation. He wasn't surprised that it happened. They didn't say anything about why Macho man disappeared completely from the wrestling world and spotlight from (2004 to reappear right before his death in 2011). In my opinion, that's what probably contributed to Randy getting out of the wrestling world right after the incidents. He was so heartbroken until he met his highschool sweetheart again.

Wrestling fans have convinced themselves that if Miss Elizabeth had a relationship with someone who wasn't Lex Luger she would still be alive. He WAS a bad influence. He CAN be blamed. Not necessarily for her death. But he can be blamed for creating the environment that made her bad choices more likely to happen and more likely to be fatal.
@pandaloon6083 Жыл бұрын
If you listen to Hogan, if you listen Hart, if you listen to Bischoff up until about a year ago, you will hear pretty much the same theme: Wrestling wasn't Elizabeth's world. She visited it, she knew it, but she wasn't a native. Because of that, there was a sense that Elizabeth needed a kind of shielding that "the boys" didn't. A lifestyle of travel, midnight drinks at the hotel bar on Tuesdays, and pills to get you to and through your next workout at the gym, might be endurable for 20 and 30 year old athletes, but it's not sustainable for a 40 year old woman. Rather than make that lifestyle easier for her to partake in, someone who cares for her would have made it more difficult. Pfohl gets dumped on because he failed in that responsibility, and was, in all likelihood, an abettor to what ultimately killed her.

Circa 2002 Lex appeared for a European promotion: WWA (maybe). Elizabeth didn't appear. Rumor was that she made the trip; I don't think her appearance was promoted. I can't see how Elizabeth would have fit into the WWE's product at that time. By most accounts, Vince liked and respected Elizabeth. He might have asked her to take more chances, more risks, than he did in the 80s, but he wasn't going to have her mud wrestle and strip. Bad for her and also bad for the IP of Miss Elizabeth. Special guest appearance. A run-in. Maybe. But more than that, I have my doubts.

I dislike Luger because he turned our Miss Elizabeth into the other woman and physically abused her. The police report clearly stated Liz said "he hit her but she did not want him to be arrested." Luger had a wife of 21 years and two beautiful children. He was on his third chance given by his wife who demanded he end the relationship with Liz. Luger was selfish. If he truly cared about Liz as a friend, he would never have crossed the friendship boundary and turned her into the other woman. Liz suffered from low self-esteem and bulimia which made her vulnerable. Luger's children do not want anything to do with him.

Only way he ever gets in is after he is dead, and that would still be wrong. Luger did not make any impact on the business and was hated both behind and in front of the camera for being a bad guy.
