The character acting in this is just outstanding. It's just the tiny things like the way he wipes the sauce from the crusts with his finger, and how his personality changes when he's criticised. Incredible.
@scottyunitedboy29252 жыл бұрын
I agree- it's a perfect example of character led comedy rather than plot-led comedy which is why this show has aged much better than some of it's contemporaries.

This show will never get old. Its so sad that caroline passed away. If the show went on would be great but never the same without Denise. However I'm sure many would love to see the show come back. This show will always live on with caroline. Even if aired again. I love all the charters in it so well written.
@johnking51742 жыл бұрын
Craig Cash who played Dave and co-wrote it with Caroline has said it will never ever return. He said once Caroline had died, the show had ended. It came to a very nice conclusion with the last ever episode in 2012, their Christmas special. It ended on a kind note, so they do not want to trample over that.

I reckon this will go down as one of the greatest TV series ever. Amazing actors bringing amazing writing to life. I grew up on a 'council' estate in the 70s and 80s, and there are so many details that resonate. The Royles are neither fashionable or particularly talented, but they are very lovable characters nevertheless.
@kaysmith89923 жыл бұрын
So many sitcoms followed this style of comedy, but none of them (except The Office) put so much detail into the realistic acting. Love the endless little gestures and expressions 😂

For those wondering this is Series 3 Episode 2, it's not on Netflix for some reason but the whole episode is on Dailymotion in good quality
@danielwilliams89465 жыл бұрын
In a nutshell this episode was removed from Netflix because they talk inappropriately about Transgender people. They have a conversation about a specific episode of "The Jerry Springer Show" where a husband finds out his new bride is actually a man. Personally I think people need to stop being so touchy on these subjects and realise that this was made 20 years ago! Not ashamed to say it but I think the scene is hilarious 🤣
@raulmiranda74195 жыл бұрын
@@danielwilliams8946 are you sure that is the reason? Netflix recently released a Chapelle special that has around 20 mins of trans bashing. They actually paid for the special to be made, and put it front and centre of their app for months. Seems odd for them to pull an episode or RF for that, but actively fund a comedy special containing the same.
