The story about Jim and the guy asking for change reminds me of an experience from a show my friend and I went to a long time ago. This was an Immolation show, probably Failures for Gods era. We went in my friend's car and for whatever reason, he agreed to give some guy he talked to at the show a ride home. This guy was annoying as hell. He kept talking and talking, asking if we needed a drummer because he was a drummer, but his dad, of all people, was a really badass drummer. He was showing off his tattoo which was the art from Morbid Tales and he ended up trying to get me to trade the brand new Immolation shirt I had just bought at the show for his used, sweaty-ass Cradle of Filth shirt that he was wearing. Sounds like a great deal. I naturally declined the amazing offer. I was so happy when we dropped his ass off. Never saw him again, thankfully.

Damn that's a hilarious story regarding the luggage! lol! Man he was fkkn cool. Always got a long really well with him when we ran across eachother in LA, MDF, etc. He reminded me of that uncle that always gave someone cool little gifts. You know how most people have loose change in pockets ? Jim had loose demos, stickers, flyers, patches . . he always kicked down something cool when we met in person 😄

Hey j-devil thanks for answering my Jim question. Schnauzer in 97 wasn’t as krazy with the mattresses but Ron Merk dressed as a scary clown with John gacy makeup. I was 13 at the time and it really left an impression. Jim gave me a schnauzer 7” that nite and was kool with him from then on. Sorta my ticket to the cleveland scene. But those early 2000 schnauzer shows were insane too. I remember holding up a dirty mattress in the pit and just using it as a battering ram. Jim will always be in our hearts. Anyway, another question: do u have any fond memories/stories of the club Speak in Tongues? It was a madhouse of noisy debauchery that would not fly in these butthurt times! Thanks.
