My addiction to comics didn't start with Jim Starlin, but early in the process, he sure propelled it into Nitro-fueled OVERDRIVE with Captain Marvel #25 - 33!

Jim Starlin's run on Batman needs an omnibus. Death in the family, ten nights of the beast. So many great stories.

Okay, so we were right about the pronunciation of "Thanos". I was sure the movies pronounced it the same way tho, so now I'm confused. 😂

I believe Omar always used to (and often still does) pronounce it incorrectly as I always did 'THAY-NOSE'.....the movies taught us that it is actually 'THAN- OSE'"....Starlin agrees with the films....so in the interview Omar pretends that he does too! But at the beginning of the video he says "THAY-NOSE"!

Starlin is still humble. Great person to meet still have plenty of work to enjoy. Batman The Cult and his Batman run were amazing. Learning how he came up with Thanos and his cosmic world building just makes me smile. I hope I get another chance to meet him again definitely a legend here folks

What a legend, as great a writer as he is an artist. Every fan has a favorite work of his, Infinity Gauntlet probably topping the list, but mine is Cosmic Odyssey by him and Mike Mignola. I was absolutely enthralled by that mini as a kid. Infinity Gauntlet and the lead-up comics are my second favorite Starlin work, especially the Thanos Quest two-parter. Batman: The Cult by Jim Starlin & Bernie Wrightson is also an often forgotten gem. Not to mention the rest of his Batman run, that original KGBeast story with him and Aparo is great. Another awesome interview, Omar! Thanks so much for doing these.

Big Starlin fan and so happy for all of his success. His version of Batman is one of my favorites (Ten Nights of the Beast) and nobody does cosmic like he does. Thanks for sharing interview and promoting Dreadstar will need to check it out.

Very few people get to write as many fantastic stories and create as many enduring characters as Mr. Starlin. Even fewer get to also draw them superbly.

Just imagine how many people got into comics because of the movies so they picked up an Infinity Gauntlet or Batman trade or something. Mr. Starlin’s work was probably the first comic book experience for many!

Love Starlin but do need to be in the right mood for his stuff. I've read Death of the New Gods and the Crisis either side but haven't picked up Countdown yet and kind of felt like I was missing some of what was going on in that one. Shame to hear things don't line up exactly but will still give that one a reread when I pick up the Countdown trades, held off on those for ages assuming Eaglemoss would do those as subscriber OHCs after they did 52, that never planned out.
