Jim Steinman - Kid Champion (Instrumental Demos, 1975)

Hello everyone, long time no post! Anyway here we are - these are the ORIGINAL instrumentals taped for Kid Champion in 1975, these were to play as the audience were taking their seats waiting for the show to start. I've touched up the audio just slightly and they're sounding better than ever before, we have some familiar themes incorporating other familiar themes, The Storm includes an instrumental of 'When Your City is Burning' from The Dream Engine, the instrumental of 'Song of The Gods' is the exact opening theme played on the Bat Out Of Hell tour, meaning we have a studio recording of it! And the only track with vocals in the instrumental file 'Kinda Like An Angel' incorporates the instrumental of 'Who'd Do The Dirty'. Anyway, the sporadic uploads shall come to an end soon and a more frequent schedule will be implemented, but until then enjoy!

It's been around for many years but the instrumental track for the Kid Champion demos has been sent around as a 28-some minute recording rather than individual tracks, so most people wouldn't have heard it!

There used to be a compilation of the Kid Champion demos on your channel a good while ago, I'm wondering if it got region locked (I'm in Canada) or if it was taken down completely? I missed that compilation but thankfully you came to the rescue with these gems! Thank you again for that gods work you're doing for the Steinmaniacs of this world. --- On another note, there was a Phantom of the Paradise compilation that also vanished, which had some very rare Pandora's Box demo that I've never been able to find anywhere else on the internet. It got me to think that it would be great if you could release standalone versions of some of the tracks that can hardly be found anywhere else on the internet. I think that putting them in a compilation with other tracks that can put the whole video at risk of being copyright striked can be a risk for the preservation of the rare tracks. I'm talking like the Bat out of Hell 2100 compilation, which as Bat1 and Bat2 tracks in it as well as some real good Ellen Foley demo I never heard anywhere else. I can listen to Bat1 and 2 whenever and wherever I want but the rare tracks in that comp live only in that specific video. If it gets taken down tomorrow, we lose those tracks which would make me and some other folks out there very sad. Yes I could just rip the audio from youtube and splice it in the audio software of my choice and then store them in my hard drive to listen to them if they get lost, but I can't do that for the tracks that are already gone from my reach. Here's a list to give an example, some rare tracks that would benefit to be released standalone since I personally never found them on else where on the Internet. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation: -The Pandora's box Demo: there was Original Sin and Good Girls go to Heaven if I remember correctly. -A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste Demo, there was two parts, one with Rory's vocals (that I found back under The Historian's Jim Steinman Tribute) and the other was a portion of the instrumental of the Everly Brother's version, which I never found ever again. - "The Neverland Suite" as it is named under the Bat 2100 comp, you have the best quality of this one, like most bootleg tracks actually. Thanks again for that. - City Night and Midnight Serenade. It's one of the only version of "Come with Me We'll Know Love" out there, which doesn't have theatre recordings if I recall since it's not in the "More Than you Deserve" compilation. Ellen is marvellous in these ones and it's the only exemplar I've ever found of these two tracks. Few months ago I thought I lost this one but it popped back thankfully. - I not sure you have that one but who knows: There's a spoken word from the Dance of The Vampire English demo done by Jim which reuses "Objects/Insatiable Appetite" lyrics in it. I heard it once and then it was gone. I believe "The Archivist" had it I should ask him on my side but just in case you might have it, it would be great too. (How about a Jim Steinman spoken words compilation? If that can be an idea for a video. :) ) - etc. --- Just some comment I wanted to share, I'd really love to hear back the Pandora's Box demo one day. Spoken words compilation is a great idea Thinking of doing a compilation of all the hard to find Japanese stuff

As for Kid Champion I'll be posting the other songs in a separate video with better audio -FCOL 1 -FCOL 2 -Yogi -Donnys Guitar And then restored audio from the 1977 Neverland workshop I'll also do a few clips from MTYD at the public theatre Only songs probably since otherwise its a lot of work I'll get round to fully sorting all the MTYD audio at a point
