This John Constantine and Dream roleplay hopefully provides a relaxing ASMR version of the Sandman universe, the wonderfully crafted comic book written by Neil Gaiman, with a sprinkling of Alan Moore’s original Hellblazer for good measure.
In case you’re looking for Dream specifically, they show up about two thirds of the way in. Otherwise, there’s a lot of Constantine trying to swindle money out of you with cheap tricks designed to help you sleep. But, as becomes clear, he’s saving the real magick for later..
This video came about after I asked my patreons if there was one of my older videos they’d like to see remade. A surprising number said either my Constantine ASMR roleplay ( • Constantine ASMR (Hypn... ) or my Sandman ASMR ( • The Sandman ASMR (Drea... , so I thought - hey, why not make a combination of the two? Especially with the recent Netflix adaptation of Sandman (which I still haven’t watched yet…). Anyway, this is the result - a 50 minute monstrosity - but I don’t think it turned out too bad! So, I hope you enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

I was not expecting these feels this evening... I lost my dreams a long time ago with the diagnosis of chronic health conditions, and since then I've been floating through life like a ghost. I have nothing to hold onto and nothing to strive towards, This has made me really think about dreams. I don't know when I lost all my dreams, but I know I used to have them. I remembered them, the ones that mattered to me. Is it too long to pick them up again? This has been a big wake up call for me. Probably not the intent of the video... but I want to regain what I've lost. Find my dreams again. Write. Become stronger. Get that structure and purpose again. Work with animals. Thank you. I will come back here in a year and update on my progress.

I have never read Sandman but now I want to 😅. Constantine has always been one of my favorites (thank you Matt Ryan) and you do him well. I just started watching the Sandman series and I find it intriguing so far. All the elements in this double feature were awesome. I've seen your original John and Sandman videos and you did improve on them. Your skills, Jim have definitely gotten better! That you made this one a continuation of the first one is a plus. I also want to say thank you for engaging your Patreon community in this. I pose that we actually live two separate lives. One, a world where all is order and mundane, the other, chaos, ruled by whim, desire, and wish. Which would Dream say is the true realm? It would be interesting to learn their thoughts on that.
