That's some mighty pricey stuff right there. Those light duty portable solar panels are all well and fine, but I think you need some residential ones for more collection, you're a little short on the supply side. These systems are a great option, if you have the money.

For my occasional drive-up, "Glamping" and Truck bed camping needs, I recently purchased the Bluetti AC70 with the B80 Expansion Battery and a 200W Solar Panel. The unit can also accommodate a second 200W Solar Panel should I decide to increase that capacity later. The AC70 is a 1000 Watt power (1800 watt Uplift Mode), 768 watt hours. The B80 Battery connected increases the watt hours to 1568 Wh. Really happy with the package of equipment...I was able to leverage some great Bluetti sale pricing recently, along with a Discount Code from another KZbinr that got me another $200 off.

I noticed you have a fast moving river behind your place. Have you considered a micro hydro genny like a "Turbulent" system back there to provide a constant power source when the sun doesn't shine? Combined with these Bluetti systems it seems like there's enough flow back there that you could go completely off grid.

@scottcooper65935 ай бұрын
Looks like nice kit. What I would say is that, you mentioned about charging it with a generator, that's kind of defeating the purpose. A battery is a storage device so the fuel you have used to charge the batteries would have been aswell just using the generator to power what your needing to power. On top of that you will incurr losses so you won't get everything out of a battery that you put in. By all means connect these to solar or wind turbines where the energy is free after initial costs but not to a generator that you need to buy fuel for.

You want to be very careful with the solar cell surfaces of those panels...protect them from scratches. You'll also want to get a really soft cloth, or better, a very very soft bristle brush to keep dust and dirt off the solar surfaces. The CLEANER the surface, the better the solar capture.
@johnmarris29655 ай бұрын
Way less sexy, but I've been charging lead acid batteries at -30 for years at my off-grid cabin. I also don't think you are going to ever generate enough power from 700w of panels to make use of a 5000w inverter. Feels like a bit of a miss-match.
