Used both they both do well, that said I think a better test would simply be to leave them on a tire sitting outside over time (days/weeks) and monitor how they last, rather than trying to wash/scrub the coating itself off. I think that's what I've noticed that Coverall does better than most, a couple weeks after I apply it the tires still seem to retain their deep black color better. They are not super shiny, but I don't like that look anyway so even after I apply the product I wipe it off to get a more dark black matte look.

I have been using Cover All for the last year on all plastic and tires on my vehicles. Inexpensive and available in a gallon for more coverage on plastics. I use the silicone based, not the California and shines great, stays on for several washes and smells great too. I’m a frequent O’Reilly’s customer now purchasing the other Superior products by the gallon and I am not a detailer, just a vehicle owner who has a little bit of time in his hands.

I have used the Insane Shine Ultimate Tire Shine and am very happy with it. It works very well on my winter tires because an aerosol does a better job getting into all the grooves on the sidewall. Using it indoors in the garage out of the wind will minimize the overspray. I checked my O'Reilly's and at least my local store does keep the Cover All in stock. So I may have to try it some time!

Is it the Tac System Tire Coat and Carpro PERL that feels like the same product? Have used Tac System Tire Coat and is very happy with it. I don't need to be aggitate it during the summer months but maybe every other month. And gives me the new tire look which I like a lot. How is the durability of Tac vs PERL for you? I have PERL but have not used it on the tires yet as I'm so satisfied with the Tac Tire Coat. Have been interested in the AW Elixir but it seems so like the PERL. Is it so in your experience with the elixir and PERL? Think Angelwax Enigma Elixir is out now too. It's ceramic infused now in this version.
@wayniac345 жыл бұрын
@@tonymattisson6158 Yes those two. Similar durability between TC and Perl. TC would have the edge if I'm splitting hairs. I hate TC's distribution on top of it being the most expensive option I've listed. Elixir is my personal favorite. Shine and durability above and beyond Perl and TC. The two Optimum products I use as part of my detailing services. They are really good as well.

@@tonymattisson6158 Just watched a video on another TAC product. In the comments someone stated CarPro is TAC but branched off. Low and behold TAC replied to that comment and i quote: " We are not CarPro, TAC System of Korea invented CarPro. They branched off in 2010." I haven't been able to find much info on this other than an email from some exec at TAC that stated this as well. In that email the exec stated they were formulators for CarPro and Gy_ _n. Of course I can not confirm the authenticity of the email I saw but you get the idea.
@tonymattisson61585 жыл бұрын
@@wayniac34 absolutely I know of the Tac System was the formulators and they do the chemicals at there too. They where makeing the chemical products for Carpro and think for Gyeon too. Then as I have heard Tac System decided to release their own line of products and stopped the formulation for other companies but still make some of the chemical products at with their formulation. Actually the Quartz Max is said to be the first formulation of Carpro Reload that was so liked. But when Carpro got cut off they needed to be doing a new formula for the Reload and that didn't go well to say the least LOL. Though now Reload has a decent formula after a couple of bad ones. And even if the new formula has been out for almost a couple of years. The bad experience with the 2nd and 3rd IIRC reload versions still is remembered and some stay away from it. What the Tac System rep mentioned that they did break away from Carpro as early as 2010 sounds to long ago. Thinking more like 2014-2015 when Tac System launched their own line of products is more closer to the truth. TS was very early with doing ceramic coating formulation and manufacturing those IIRC in 2006 or 2008. Of cause this is rumors that has been taking from the asian scene of detailing products. So I have not have a confirm on this. But it has been out for many years now these rumors so some truth to it I think it is LOL. The difference that I don't think that the TC and PERL is the same is. That the TC claims to be an acrylic resin based tire coating while PERL claims to be a SiO2 based one. Sure they can be very simualar as I think most water based tire dressing and tire coating is. Just some slightly difference between them in the durability as in how much solids it has and think it's not much of different addetives they can play with in these kind of products. Just a guess though LOL.
@wayniac345 жыл бұрын
@@tonymattisson6158 Thanks for the info as well as the back and forth. Much appreciated! Like I mentioned earlier I'll be moving on from TC due to availability/pricing. If you get a chance to check out Elixir I'd be interested in your experience/thoughts. Thanks again...take care!

I rarely use tire shine. My only experience is with Meguiar's tire gel. Yes, it did sling. On the back it said it could be used on trim, I probably didn't apply it right. When it rained, it made a mess. I did find out recently Turtle Wax's Seal and Shine makes a great trim clean and shine. I got some deep cleaning to do on my truck this Spring, like removing trim panels to clean them and under them. Far as shine level I like it with very little shine on tires.

So....one thing I've noticed about the Meguires product (compared to almost every other silicone based tire dressing) is that the Meguire's acts differently. When applying, you can tell it REALLY sticks to the tire. When you're leveling it, or "knocking it down", you can feel almost a sticky-friction on your applicator pad. And it's music to my ears because with most silicone based dressings, you either have to soak the tire in order to cover it all, or when you're knocking it down, it starts evaporating off the tire leaving uneven spots. That doesn't happen with the Meg's. I have not yet tried cover-all though.
