If you look back at the years Hendrix was popular and playing and recording albums, what he was doing is even more mind blowing. He was brutally, BRUTALLY HEAVY.

Yes he was for 1967 when he burst out. Interesting to hear the last 16 or so songs he recorded in 1970 ( released finally as one album in 1997) where his sound was much more funky and blues jazz but still so much groove and talent overflowing.

He was in such concert demand he pretty much couldn't record studio music, he pretty much lived on the road,that's why I believe we heard the same songs over and over but when he performed them he made it exciting each time he played them, awesome he was!
@musselchee95603 жыл бұрын
When critics (probably self entitled journalists) complained the live songs didn't sound like their album version (they obviously didn't get him) he'd reply, 'go buy the record'.

He never played anything the same twice. That's why I'm so thankful for people that upload his live recordings and jam sessions to KZbin for everyone to hear, decades after he left us. 😊

Everytime I listen to Jimi ’s blues , I feel something defenately different from that of Clapton ’s.

Personally, I've never understood the Clapton fandom phenomenon. Sure, he's a talented guitarist, but he did all his best work in his Cream years. Except for a couple/few isolated singles, I frankly find his solo music output boring and uninspired

Back in the late '80s, a pair of 4-disc boxed-sets (CD-format) of JHE music came out about a year apart from one another. One was called Lifelines (I think), and the other one was called Stages. The former mostly focused on studio recordings along with some demo, outtake, b-side, previously-unreleased material, and archival radio broadcast audio of Jimi being interviewed all taking up the first three discs; while, the fourth was dedicated to live tracks (not sure if from a single concert or a sampling of material from various different concert performances). And the latter was all live performances with each disc being from a single concert. If memory serves me, I think that the host cities were: Paris (France); Rome (Italy); Stockholm (Sweden); and Atlanta (Ga., U.S.) I'm wondering if the audio footage heard on this KZbin "video" is from the same concert on that Stages disc?
