Spot-on cover. I thought I was one of very few that appreciated this original track actually titled "Midnight." You have to hear this from the original Jimi recording with headphones to fully appreciate the artistry here, trippy stereo work - circa 1972 or so. The 4th album released after his death culled from his archives. Compiled by Eddie Kramer and John Jansen. Just looked up the availability of a CD version versus the vinyl I have - starts at $173. on Amazon. Ouch.

Steve invited me to stay for the show, but I couldn't physically do it. He is SUCH a great guy...top notch class act! He's been my favorite composer since 1985...I heard the SoundPage of Blue Powder and my world turned on its axis--in an incredibly breathtaking way. :)

We had no KZbin,if some momma had a color TV they was considered Rich. We went the Robin Trower,Stepping Wolf, Rolling Stone concert at the 🏟️ stadium where you walk around frisbee,s and joints was floating around and you could walk around of sit in the stands.$5.50 cents. The good old days.Its a lotta gifted musicians didn't get a chance to be known as Legends.Hendrix got a break but he had to go to or he got a blue Chip invitation to the UK.Then he was adopted and then came back to the Amerikkka system and made history. At Church we call that a Blessing 🙏🙌😇.

They had another Jimi Hendrix 8 track & album that was out with War HEROES back in the early 70,s it was called Captain Coconut, the those tapes was 3.99 and Joe Johnson brother Tommy had in one closet 8 track tapes of everybody, we was Black in jr.high jamming off Jeff Beck bolero,Aerosmith,Derringer,Zappa, Zeppelin,Blue oyster cult and Tommy had a thousand tape,Jazz,Blues,Rock,Soul,Gospel, Chubby Checker,waylonJennings, 4 finger lids was going for $20.00 Mexican &Alcolpuco Gold. Joe Johnson had 12 string ovation acoustic and a GibsonSG and played Albert king,Joe Simon,Jimi Hendrix ,all the white music like allman brothers,deep purple just like the record or tape.Not Almost, but just like it was.I am telling you my friends & me we was exposed to the real deal. We was there,right there in the hood,not neighborhood,the hood,same experience and lively hood Jimi Hendrix got.

I had the album & 8 track Tape in 1972 and yes I use to put headphones on and listen to Midnight over & over for hours. WAR HEROES... Also Joe Johnson the hood Gittarr Playa played everything Jimi Hendrix put out,he Played the Hendrix to the exact & he was in the (retarded class) Slow learner's class in the portable behind the main school campus.You but him a case colt 45,s and say Joe play Robin Trower calidonia, Peter Frampton ,do you feel,like I do,J Geils,T- Rex, Hendrix Catastrophe The Brother played everything to a Tee. you name it,Maggot Brain, Clean up women,George Benson, Voo Doo Chile,. This was a Black teenager who was just like back then a real live Hendrix in the hood. He wore mirror sunglasses , Headband , shoes that was the Bruce Lee Clogs,took Chocolate Mesculine that was going for two dollars,and Black and whites just started integrating in our school.Whites was getting Bus to our school and we was Blended in culture,but Joe,this World missed Raw uncut real talent. White People haven't heard or seen anything like Joe.They you tube playing Hendrix.. We was at Joe House on 13th Ave, in the 70,s witnesses to one of the other greatest on the planet.

I was about to disagree with you but after about four minutes (possibly slightly earlier) the reasonably good imitation gave way to a poorer interpretation. Rather, I suspect what Jimi did naturally is not easy to imitate. I thought for the first three minutes this was more than passable, thereafter though I agree with you, which when I started typing. I should listen the whole way through first shouldn't I!
