Hendrix is my favorite artist...EVER! He's from another galaxy, nobody played like him, had so much talent and so much more to give but ultimately went down the wrong path and could come back! I was only 7 months old when he died and before he died he was working with Miles Davis...imagine THAT music🔥🔥🔥

This song is an old blues song from far back in time. The author is unknown. It's deep blues. It's about life struggle, tragedy, and redemption. Bluesmen basically made songs about people and their life around them, like sort of poetic journalists. There was probably some Joe who murdered his wife.

Jimi hired Noel Redding because he liked his hair style. It was the same as Jimi's. Both Noel and Mitch were essential integral parts of The Jimi Hendrix Experience. The sound that they produced together was astonishing. I should know.....I saw them live more than once. Understand Prince, SRV, Eddie van Halen and all the rest are simply disciples of Jimi Hendrix. He did all that they did almost 20 years before they did. Jimi was the man. WATCH THIS......Jimi Hendrix, Johnny B Goode, Berkley. Prepare to be astounded at what one man can do with an electric guitar. More than amazing.....simply phenomenal.

I had a patient about 6 years ago who met Jimi in 1968. She said she was a teenager at his concert. She said that back in those days the artists just has a trailer and a rent a cop at a chain link fence. She said she went and bought two hot dogs then walked up to the guard and said my name is Charlotte and I got Mr Hendrix hot dogs he ordered. The guard told her to go ahead. She said she knocked on the door and Jimi Hendrix opened the door. She was all by herself and said "Mr. Hendrix would you like to have a hot dog with me" he said yes and invited her into his trailer. She said as they sat there Jimi was a complete gentleman, smart and started asking her what she was gonna do with her life. After 20 minutes she left and said he behaved a total gentleman. MY JAW Dropped when this Woman told me her story. 👍

He did a version of “the star spangled banner” that was very controversial at the time. He was a vet who served in the US Army yet was still criticised for the national anthem version he performed. You might want to do a reaction to it

Great story Steph, Pleased you guys have discovered Jimi. He influenced so many people. He was living in London when the Stone, Beatles, the Who, Eric Clapton and a multitude of great Muso's lived at the time and knew most of them. Eric Clapton heard him at a small club and said he was the best guitarist he had ever heard. When he played loads of Muso's turned up to hear him play.

Prince would deny the Hendrix influence unbelievably. Mitch Mitchell was the drummer and was an amazing match with Jimi. Awesome jazz musician. Noel Redding was the bassist and filled out the sound and rhythm. Under rated, but him and Jimi had problems. Billy Cox replaced him and brought some funk and soul to the mix. Perfect for Jimi. Billy still tours Jimi's music.

Boat was PCP - angel dust. A lot of people called it "T". Some people mixed it with with formaldehyde, but it was the PCP that did the job. It was horse tranquilizer. My buddies and I smoke a bunch of it one night then played basketball for a few hours. It was great but some of the guys ended up with bloody noses and broken teeth. I got home, looked in the mirror, and there was this freaky monster looking back. The next morning after the drugs wore off I could see that I'd been looking at my mashed up face in the mirror. Scariest stuff I ever messed with.

That Wayans clip was hilarious! I saw Jimi live, and he went through a lot of hair styles. He was going bald and started wearing hats. Eventually he got hair replacement. Jimi died in 1970, so everybody afterwards was influenced by him. Jimi was a prophet and he had a lot of disciples. Anybody who tells you they didn't try drugs in the 60's wasn't there!

@@StephanieLee48 Let's be clear about something. That's Jimi. Clark Kent's brother, if you didn't know. Jimi did it right, whatever. You should also study up on the 1960s because that hairdo would have been unheard of in 1960. If you walked into an office building in 1960, every employee but the janitors would be white, and every manager would be a man. A guy with a haircut like Jimi's would be arrested on suspicion.

The first member of The Jimi Hendrix Experience to grow an afro was the red-headed drummer, who was actually a jazz drummer, Mitch Mitchell. If you know any redheads with curly hair, you'll understand. btw, "Joe" was another dude, not Jimi... and Jimi didn't write the song. Just heard it on the radio, sort of a "reverse Elvis" (Elvis did a Big Momma Thornton song-- HOUND DOG kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKfFhIuMmJloZ7M), so a white guy did original HEY JOE -- Bill Roberts kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZ7VeIKOf7KEoJI

This wasn't Jimi's composition, it was hit take on this one and a few others. This country/western story tellling rap, with a few gimmicks that only Jimi mastered before and after that, sold to mass audiences. Reportedly, near the end of his career he was sick of playing that and at one point threw his guitar down and started playing more recent numbers, ones that he would hope would bring a wider audience to his playing. He died while playing more funk, jazz, and deep blues music as well as what he envisioned 'sky church music', a new form that those close to him said was about to propel modern music in a whole new form. He died before we got to hear that, but he started with his last 2 unfinished albums.

On their first album cover they all had 'fros and kept it up for a while.
