Grateful to have met Mitch Mitchell once. It was at a festival in San Bernardino in the late 1980s. Talked with him for about a half hour. He was sitting in on drums for Sky Saxon as part of the latter's ever changing line up of the Seeds. Mitch was an avid record collector. We talked about his work with the Riot Squad, as well as some of the rare 45s he had in his collection. Nice guy.

Buddy Rich for us is a bit much we like that Krupa . Joe Morello Mitchell approach... I was influenced heavily by Ringo Krupa my dad and Mitch... I like all the players but no one like those four. I hope you don't mind me saying you're very lucky to have met that man... God bless you for knowing talent

what’s even better is i don’t know if he could. he could not read music (the only musical fact we share 🙄) and saw colors as notes often using colors in his beautifully detailed poems i think jimi never thought lyrically. i knew at ten he was a pure soul and loved love. he was peaceful to all. that’s beautiful and i know it through the rides he generously takes us on. one’s that bring color to those days or months when nature stopped making colors without apology. *in one rainy wish he describes the color of his dream golden rose. i can see that color and it’s temporary it’s so hot. FF to today and how technology has us in a fricken mad rush all day accomplishing almost no substance (and most believe it benefits us?) so iphone years ago coincidentally comes out with same color ~ decade ago and called it Rose Gold. whaaat is that??? that’s an old hysterical jewish woman who occasionally smokes me up 🤷♀️

On another tip....I think he fkd around with knobs on the speakers as a ploy, because he was such a unique guitarist,it made it seem he was looking technically creating a wild vibe, when all he was doing was inching up the volume...or some meaningless shit. " I can't seem to get that otherworldly tone I usually draw on, oh well I guess I'll force my way threw this..ugh here goes, they'll probably like this".

So sad that Jimi missed the advent of Arena Rock and Stadium Rock sound systems. I used to sit in these audiences and wonder why they sounded so bad next to the albums. At the time that Hendrix died in September of 1970 there were already mixing boards, JBL speakers and Crown amps. Jimi was working with Electro=Harmonics to develop new pedals. Also in New York Dimarzio was about a year away from marketing upgraded pickups for Stratocasters. I'd have loved to hear him in 1978 using the same sound systems that Van Halen and everyone else had access to.

Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on KZbin. 😀
