This guy had to be from another Universe because nobody to this day can play the guitar like Hendrix .... WOW 🔥

I remember buying this album when it came out. I listened to it over and over. It's like nothing I've ever heard before. It's so different. One of his best works.

Jimi's choices have a kind of random, organic flow but somehow are not random . . and random at the same time because he can link the most discontinuous stuff together -somehow. It delights the brain! it's controlled chaos. I know of no other guitar player who can do this. In this piece he seems to get it all right - no dead end ideas at all. Message to Love at Fillmore is highly reminiscent for me. These jams and "message" are kind of Jimi's manifestos - manifestos of the greatest musician of our age. TIMELESS!

Exactly this is what makes him the greatest in my opinion. Some people just don’t connect with it the same and it sounds like noise. Some of it may not sound pretty like music on the radio but it is raw and true artistry

@UncleCakez4545 This was an early version of what would later become "Message To The Universe" or even later during the band of gypsys era "Message To Love". It's full titile is. It was just a studio jam that wasn't relased unti March 1980 on the album "Nine to the Universe".

hey man, I want to know more about this , where do you get that info , about the nines on the wall before he died. hendrix left many clues on is lyrics , about the nine and 69. and I am a 9. so I have and interest about that.

The contrasting elements in this music kill me. You use the term "psychedelic" yet you note of the completely straight set of "lyrics". Primitive" drumbeat opening into apocalyptic electric guitar excursion. This is not your father's Floyd or Dead space jam. -----The Big Bang was wild and noisy, but happened really fast, like clockwork.. Maybe Jimi deliberately messed around with his some of his delivery ("improvising" lines, joking verbal introductions, loose sampling, etc.) just for the added shock value when paired with the virtuoso guitar. Maybe it relieved stage fright, lightened the mood, and he couldn't really rust his singing...but it always cracks me up. You left out the last line (after "Some people don't understand-- help them god)": "Yeah, that's alright!..."
@fatninjacatmatt8 жыл бұрын
If you think psychedelic music has only to do with those very tangible things you listed, I feel sorry for you man. Like Jimi said, some people dont understand, help them God. :)

If you think Jimi wasn't grounded rhythmically 'at the same time right here in your picture screen' I feel sorry for you man.

Even though this is years old (so therefore now analogued here in our Library Of Congress where I'm viewing this now), it's still jolly relevant today. Can't tell you the last time I couldn't hear the sung word "Mama" that wasn't a Led Zeppelin tune...i wept.

Noel Redding was getting under Jimi skin and Jimi wanted to split but kept Mitch around because they were truly great friends. Noel wanted to be more creative and he brought up splitting first. which forced Jimi hand.

I'm pretty sure Noel missed jammin with him and jimi I'm sure felt the same.
@Einnor0844 жыл бұрын
Alexander Barrera I don't think Noel would "jam" anymo. He wuz told he wuz just a sideman. He took dat 2 heart. Hendrix tried 2 assure both Mitch & Noel,dat they were mo than mere sidemen 2 him & dat he'd git it straightened out, BUTT it wuzn't happening. Hendrix allowed Noel a tune on both da 2nd & 3rd album, BUTT dat wuz about da only concession Jimi &/or management made. Datz y Noel ACTED like a simple sideman. Show-up...... Play da gig..... Git paid...... Git hi...... Git laid. Next day. Next city....... Same process, all over again.
