Nice lesson Marty, a jam in E Minor. There is another you might consider teaching. Ronnie Montrose, Rock Candy where the intro is " just as many Eminor pentatonic licks as you know ". Two great intros along similar lines. You've infiltrated us in Northern Ireland for which we are grateful Marty!!

Guitar doesn't get more fun than playing Voodoo Child (slight return) and it's not super complicated but Hendrix had to write it. Such an inspired song to just jam in pentatonic (even if you don't have a wah peddle it can be fun! ) which is how I have to play it ...for now 😂 Marty, thanks for showing your foot and for everything you do including not making me feel like a loser because I don't know much about theory! Nearly every channel except Marty Music makes pentatonic scales sound as if you suck because you don't know how to play all scales and modes.... Or if you want to learn a song without understanding everything about it is a shortcut so you suck! I feel better about myself when I watch Marty because he's not telling me how much I should know. I'm not anti theory but I've practiced a lot and it can be discouraging listening to the 5 million things I haven't learned...yet. Marty keeps it fun, there's zero judgement plus he's got charisma right? He's a character! Take Marty out of the KZbin guitar community and it becomes a lesson in how far behind you are from seemingly everyone else! If pentatonic scales were alright for Hendrix or Page or Clapton, Gilmore then why do I suck if I don't yet no lydian from mixolydian? I'll get there in time. Let me jam out sometimes without feeling like a lousy guitar player...I'm pretty good and working to get better? I know some stuff and I don't know some stuff. I know this! I stand right next to a mountain, chop it down with the edge of my hand! 😂 Thanks Marty, you da' man ✌️❤️🎸🎶🤣🙏

Hey I was wondering. I just got a silversky se and it sounds and plays amazing... BUT! It came with all 3 knobs cracked. I sent a request to the seller and they sent me back standard knobs that didn't come with the guitar. I honestly could give 2 shits less cuz it sounds amazing but I think that's pretty shitty and wondered if it happened to anyone else?

I'm glad that I forced myself to learn to fret with my thumb years back just like Hendrix did. I still predominantly use barre chords the standard way but having the ability to fret chords with your thumb is INCREDIBLY POWERFUL. It allows you to free up one, two or maybe 3 of your digits for embellishments or licks without having the bass string become muted. Any beginners should try to learn as much different styles as possible, even if you don't see how it would help you in your style, learn it anyways and I promise you'll discover a way to incorporate it into your playing.

Good advice Bilb Ono. I never bothered to learn the G chord with pinky, middle and ring. Every once in a while I find I need it in a fast progression. I've gradually gotten so I can play it on a guitar with a narrow neck, at least.

I liken the latter part of this sounding like two wild animals having a fight! It's a truly amazing noise he gets out of that guitar. There's also a part where, just after he sings "I just wanna say one last thing", I think, where there is three great muted slides. Those sound absolutely awesome and I would love to copy that sound.....if only I had one clue as to how he did it. Hendrix did a lot of slides on the thick strings. He was the king of the slides. He could just about make a guitar talk, which he almost did on the track Rainy Day, Dream Away from Electric Ladyland. 54 years after this song was brought out, it is without doubt still one of the heaviest songs I have ever heard. 😎🎸🎸
