@@Deedee-ee1sg my job is to educate the uneducated. obviously you donrt play guitar. if you did, you would automatically realize hendrix is not rock at all. but his use of feedback and distortion miss identified him as rocvk by all ntyhe copiers of his day, including black sabbath, deep purple and pink floyd. their attemptred mimicry led to the foundation of heavy metal. hendrix is considered a founding of heavy metal but jimi himself was a blues man who was charting new musical ideas entirely on a differentb path than rock. no one could catergorize his music, it fell outside all music boundaries. so the rock establishment called him a rock guitarist while hendrix was aptly described as 'a cross between mozart and beethoven', by the bass player of his own group 'Band of Gypsies'. and of course chuck berry, the rocfk and roll king was an accomplished blues guitarist first. in fact blues is the foundation of all modern music, icluding rock, rock and roll, rap ,hiphop and jazz.

When I was young, I used to think how tragic it was that Jimi had such a small time on Earth, now much older I think how fortunate we all were that we had Jimi for the short time he had on Earth.

Great and fantastic video---- I've been listening to Jimi for 50 years and he still kicks it out of the park for me------What a great man he was!
@Quicksilver_Cookie10 жыл бұрын
He wasn't the first electric guitar lead player, and definitely wasn't a pioneer of distorted sound, but he squeezed all juice out of that gear and played like nobody played ever before. You just listen to that tone. Amp is literally crying and screaming, this is the physical limit of what was possible at the time, and Jimi was able to tame that beast. It sounds so wild and just on the limit, ready to snap, crack and catch on fire :D Damn there is power behind that sound, and there is power behind those notes.
@kikachaaa10 жыл бұрын
Actually the electric guitar was called electronic guitar up until clapton/hendrix's levels of distortion and experimentation with effects and mods on amps...

You white boys are truly showing your jealousy I hear white boys say Jimi wasn't the best but they have yet to tell me what white boy is.
@mikealbert55099 жыл бұрын
tracy smith well we know one thang bitch....yo black boy prefered hanging out with white folk...hehehe When you consider overall talent...thats skills...song writing....then Jimi is just one of many...hell the lowly Beatles wrote more song then Jimi could dream of .... look at John Mayer... over all has written 20 cord songs while Hendrix are 2 or 3! Id like to see Hendrix play Neon! Van Halen can play circles around Hendrix. Look Hendrix was good and different but the world of guitarists has passed him by...black or white...bitch!
@LukePiala9 жыл бұрын
mike albert You gotta be kidding me, right? Jimi playing neon? Firstly you are comparing different generations and secondly, if there was no Hendrix, Mayer wouldnt play like he is now. Even S.R.V wouldnt be that great without Hendrix, he would be great but only with blues... Dont get me wrong, I love Mayer and play his tunes often, but John is not nearly that authentic/raw/real....
@paulofilipe89219 жыл бұрын
mike albert how can you compare john mayer with jimi hendrix? that's just retarded.

Hendrix was absolutely the best musician ever to play lead guitar and sing both and the chords he used just was absolutely natural as breathing to him , and it takes me weeks to learn this song and still can't get close to Hendrix. Freaking awesome dude

Jimi Hendrix is the father of rock guitar before him you can't hear these sounds from a guitar and really till today you still don't hear them nobody today can play like Jimi because nobody has his imagination when you hear Jimi Hendrix touches you deep down inside of your creative soull and the only thing I can look up and say is thank you for having the courage to be you I am who I am thank god.

well there is some truth to that, but that Is subjective. his feel was amazing and technique is loose and tight at the same time. I do disagree on there is no one that can effect you like jimi, for me john fruicsante, srv, touch my soul just as well but I digress.

@distantquasar52184 жыл бұрын
@@Sabbatical_k I say Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitarist ever because what he did in the sixtys with a guitar still can't be duplicated today with modern technology. There isn't a solo today played by a guitarist that Jimi couldn't play, their are plenty of solos that nobody came close to duplicating that Jimi played here's two. Power of Love by Jimi Hendrix and the band of gypsies, and Machine Gun, on the same album. Nobody can play those two songs no where close to how Jimi played them. This is why I say Jimi was the greatest guitarist ever because most of his solos can't be duplicated even with the modern technology of today, and he did it more then fifty years ago.

R.I.P Jimi Hendrix. Everybody and anybody out there who has played a guitar, or plays a guitar, has him to thank for where the instrument and the music has been taken to. He influenced so many generations and genres of music, truly a great artist. I often wonder what he'd be playing and doing with music now had he not left our world so soon. Also...how can 152 people dislike this video?!? Shame shame!
