Exactly. Which is funny because they're part of what Jimin was talking about in this song😭 a Vogue writer described him perfectly, he's the kind of star that inspires worship and envy lol. Anyway, last time i checked this even entered #4 in UK top 40 chart, the highest ever entry of any solo kpop act this decade. Psy's Gangnman style was in 2012. Uk chart is harder to penetrate because they don't listen to kpop there that much, but this one is getting an audience. One fan even got surprised when they were in a club in UK and got played there. Also, it's doing well in US charts too, highest debut stream for a korean solo song,it even surpassed Taylor Swift's song lol. Doing well in Japan too. Not to mention #1 trending worldwide in KZbin music. I can't possibly list all the achievements, i can't remember all, and it's just 3rd day😂 Anyway, jimin having antis judging and nitpicking is already expected. In Korea, his antis are publishing like 200 hate posts in Korean forums💀 not to mention international fans of other kpop fandom ganging up together just because they hate jimin succeeding. it's really fascinating how he basically caused chaos with this pre-release track. Even Swifties are shading the song, lmao, imagine comparing the US stream of Taylor Swift and an asian solo act about to debut 😂 Jimin and producer pdogg definitely know what they're doing when they unleashed this song, LMAO. The obsession of everyone with this song since release is amazing

The only reason its polarizing is because there are haters who 1. hate the success that the bts members have (both as a group and individually) and 2. they cannot comprehend autotune being used as a stylistic choice. Jimin CLEARLY does not need it and is instead CHOOSING to use it as an effect for the sake of the song’s vibe. It’s an absolute banger. And hes just getting started.

Thank you for reacting. This song is to be enjoyed as a theatrical performance, as a package deal. Jimin is not only a great singer, but a professionally trained contemporary dancer (and he also did hip hop and martial arts). Jimin is one of the best in the industry for the expressive lyrical dancing that’s really fluid yet also very powerful.. and always tells a story. With his beautiful high register of vocals and timbre, one can say he is a very unique singer as well. Please don’t mind the negative comments if you enjoyed and liked the song. It’s perfectly fine to dislike a song, but it’s not ok to diss a song without at least reading up on the reasons behind the song and song making. Autotune was used deliberately to paint the inner voice that he’s struggling with; to add to the angst and frustration, the voice was distorted. Autotune was mostly used on the rap parts (inner voice), but some people think heavy autotune was used throughout the entire song, which is not true. Jimin’s voice is naturally that unique. If one cared enough to really appreciate Jimin’s past works, they’d know. Maybe there are respectful people who simply just didn’t like the song, and I can respect that. But please be mindful there are a lot of competitions right now between Kpop fandoms and also within Army solo fandoms, so some of the diss is done intentionally to downplay and discourage people who actually like the song. The whole song is a masterpiece, from his vocals to production, the whole choreography and the music video everything is absolutely stunning. And the use of autotune is a stylistic choice, he used it emphasize the lyrics of that part which is being said by his other persona, which is like just 4 lines. The only people who don't like the song are those who in general don't like BTS and are haters in general. This song is already breaking a lot of records so those haters opinions are irrelevant

For all of us who dilligently follow BTS and the individuals in the group - We love this. Using autotune to distort his voice her is artistically intentional. Not many can use this in their music and have it come off so well as this. Suga from BTS also has a song called Set Me Free on his mixtape D-2 from 2020, that's the part 1. The 2 songs aren't related but it's a way to differentiate between the 2 songs. The poem on hin is in German, i don't know yet what it means. Seeing him like this is so fabulous on so many level,s

First on March 23,, Jimin will be doing an interview, not sure if he’ll also be performing this song though, even though as a pre-release, it’s out already out. On March 24, the actual day Jimin’s full album “FACE” is released, along with actual main song from album “Going Crazy” MV, he will appear once again, to perform possibly both songs! Jimin, along with the rest of the group BTS, has appeared several times before throughout the years. ❣Jimin’s “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this makes me that much more excited, waiting in anticipation for release of the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” on March 24, along with his other, main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. So often not being fully taken advantage of, but that comes with being part of a group, that has every single member having so much talent that it’s been so limiting for Jimin, especially him being so selfless, making a point of having others shine before himself. The real Hype is because it is BTS Jimin not actually the song .. But the whole song , the music used, instruments, choreography and auto-tuning and lyrics were intentionally put together to deliver the message perfectly for the artist , it was well-done ..

Jimin is known for his unique vocal tone, his dance prowess, and his precision. He's also crazy gorgeous 😍 Everything they sing or perform has meaning and symbolism. Look up the poem on hi Jimin's chest is "Ich lebe mein Leben" (I live my life) from the german poet Rainer Maria Rilke. It was written in 1899.

It's other fandoms hating on it more tbh and without an understanding of the story & use of auto tune or just simply because they hate Jimin. He stated in a lyric that he won't stop even if he's mocked and often his antis use his angelic vocals to mock him as well as his outer beauty. Jimin doesn't need auto tune but he did in this song because of the conflict within the story of lyrics and dance, not to make his voice sound better because of a mediocre voice which is anything but Jimin. Many vocal trainers always praise him and talk about his unique vocals which are something you don't often hear. Jimin has a naturally high singing voice but he also ad-libbed in his lower register in this song which NEEDS to be discussed because Jimins lower register is just as good as his highs. Jimin is now in his solo era which he has wanted for around 7/8 years now and is showing sides of him that have been restricted by being in BTS.

I think most of the people who are hating on the song didn't think the autotune was necessary. And they are right it wasn't necessary, but it was stylistic choice Jimin made and like you guys said it was only a short part of the song. Some people were also complaining about the lyrics like the "f the opps" line. And I think others were thrown off because Jimin has never done a song like this on his own before and would prefer for him to do a different style. And that was a German poem on his chest.

I don't think the song is very polarizing at all. It's been doing really well on charts and gained Jimin a lot of new fans especially within the industry other artists - producers and musicians and dancers. I think the only negative reaction has been from fans of other Kpop groups 😅 which seems to come from more of a need to mock the artistic use of autotune or make fun of Jimin because he comes from a popular group and it's cool to hate on popular things rather than a true view of the actual art he's put out.

Jimin naturally has a really high voice. Super rare and super unique. I think this song is super cool. It’s very artistic and has a deep meaning. It’s definitely jarring for people who have listened to jimin before but I love that he experimented with his sound in this album. I believe the album is supposed to represent his emotions and journey through Covid.

You can watch the behind the scenes to see how precise and coordinated the choreography was. Many army vets who reacted to the song were even impressed by the formation of the dancers.

i dont think it was messy, i think its a different style that because everyone not always doing the same thing can come across as messy to someone that was expecting regular kpop style of choreo... i think they were going for more interptative dance for a stage theatre performance so i think it was a cool refreshing vibe

Yes, Jimin pretty much always sings in a higher pitch, thats where he is the most comfortable and flexible but he has a beautiful lower register too but you do not hear that very often. In older BTS songs he uses it more but he is strongest in his higher register.

Jimin sings in a higher register. That is completely normal and comfortable for him to do. I loved that he also showcased his chest voice as well. The auto-tune was a stylistic choice as was the beginning with the "messy" dancing (I don't think any of the dancing was messy). I personally LOVED this production and loved his vocals, his dance moves, etc. The tattoos were in German from a poem. This song is such a banger, ive been waiting for it for ages and now it's finally here. I'm in love with the choreo as its so jimin. I love jimins vocals in the song aswell,vand the lyrics relatable aswell. I also love the MVs darker colours aka the black and blue as they really set the mood Jimins is trying to create and this is a side of jimin I've been waiting to see and I love it.
