Jimin actually said that for this album he went back to the basics and relearned how to sing because the way he was singing before wasn't sustainable for his voice. He definitely has a unique voice, but the hard work and dedication he's put into honing his skill is what really impresses me. Even during BTS's predebut days, since he was the last one to join the group, he never got singing lessons like the other members of the vocal line. They were also trying to get him to rap at first. So Jimin would sit outside of the others' lessons in the hall listening in and then go practice by himself, and he still ended up with the voice of an angel.

It’s no wonder so many people fought so hard to keep Jimin in the final line-up for BTS. What I could never understand is how so many others were ready to send him away. Even Suga, as such a young producer, not even 20 at the time, knew right away Jimin just needed to train to reach a colorful vocal tone no one else would have. I’m so thankful for him, RM, and everyone else that believed in Jimin from the start.

In BH only two people were not against Jimin, and yes, that "genius, daddy of bts pd" was against him too. Jimin was so different, not so fit to original plan of pd and that plan was flop, to be honest, because BTS made so much fame after changing concept and guess what? Jimin was just perfect for that... And Jimin gained BTS SO MUCH attention (and he was doing it since 2013 btw, yes, at the time when concept was different)... To be honest, Jimin is good at any concept and he proved it many times.

Even in the official BTS biography released by BigHit last year, there's a chapter where it's said that all BTS members rejected Bang PD's version of the song 'DNA' and told him to change it until they liked it enough, and Bang PD just sighed, accepted their criticism, and proceeded to work harder. Even the fact that a CEO of a label accepted and ended up prioritizing the trainees opinions about which members should be in the final lineup, was totally unheard of in the idol industry.

This is not necessarily accurate. Suga has talked about this on Suchwita. Jimin worked hard before their debut to become a true singer. He didn’t enter as a singer but taught himself through long hours of hard work and practice. Singing didn’t come naturally but he cultivated what talent he had.

Same!!! That vlog from back in the day is still hard to watch. He honestly was never given a fair chance for singing lessons for some reason. JK and V got them but sweet Jimin always felt inferior. I'm so glad he is so much more comfortable with MUSE. This is for sure his outbreak album. Jimin is amazing because he was never supposed to be one of the main singers in BTS. He never even had lessons when the others did. He would listen outside and practice singing on his own! I truly think it's his distinct voice that sets BTS apart. When you hear BTS you know immediately who you are listening to and a lot of that is due to Jimin!

Jimin has a very distinctive voice, as does each member in the vocal line, and altogether give BTS a special sound, as do the 3 rappers It isn’t a good thing that he didn’t train systematically from the beginning, as the other vocalists did; luckily he has realised how dangerous it was, as he could loose his voice; so he’s started learning from the basics on how to manage his vocals last year, while he was working in Muse. Jimin explained it in his conversation with RM about Muse. Yoongi asked BHM to let Jimin become a vocalist instead of a rapper, bcse he identified Jimin’s potential early on. Jimin has relied heavily on Jung Kook’s experience to advance his learning; again, Jimin said so in his conversation with RM abt Muse.

​@@delasmercedes2940Jungkook is a prodigy, a natural born singer, that together with him learning singing when he was 14yo gives him a perfect tecnic, and as you said Jimin relied in Jungkook because he knows he is the best. Having said that, i believe Jimin made BTS stood up from the other kpop groups, him and their lyrics. I say this not to belittle the others because each one is talented, but in their early years they weren’t at the level they're today, they were an unpolished diamond. As Namjoon said, Jimin attracted the public's attention with his dance in 2013, and he kept doing it even in MOTS7 until the others were ready to shine on their own even more. Jimin stage presence helped the others to relax. Also his unique voice set BTS apart from the others, the same when you lisent to straykids the voice that stands out is Felix's voice.

I think one of my favorite things about your reactions that just gets me giddy and pumped is the constant stopping like , "what is going on here? The music is making me feel some type of way. " YES! Each individual member of BTS makes you stop and say how can this get any better? After so many listens through you find a sound that you rewind over and over to hear it again. I love it! ✨It’s amazing the so many things Jimin worked on, so many places Jimin went, all that he did non stop, including filming in the abandoned unused resort in Korea, where the Jimmy Fallon Tonight show performance, was filmed, that closed in 2022, that had housed now abandoned swimming pools, not in use anymore. Which is where Jimin went to film the live performance. 🔥(Which I urge you to react to, adding filter to cover screen somewhat ti be safe from being removed)! Jimin’s vocals live, which you can tell. are always even more amazing, since still able to do so with all that equally amazing dancing such with such strenuous choreo. JIMIN also flew to Hungary, only for a couple of days just to film the “Who” MV, which he also created and oversaw the choreography for, all , more recently, just months before going into the military, end of last yr. and nobody new about it, all for around a couple of yrs. Only time we all heard anything is when ppl he worked with, like the famous producers in LA as well as in NY, posted photos or just comments praising Jimin, while working alongside of him, mentioning as well being so excited about the project they were working on. There were even times when backup dancers posted things that ppl found, saw, so word somewhat got out. But yet, when finally FACE album came out, even then not a one of those producers were involved with any of those songs in FACE. Now we all know that it was for Jimin’s second album MUSE, all those songs, that all those producers were excited about & referring to. But who would have thought that Jimin was already working on second album as well way back then in 2022. Jimin so impressively & amazingly crammed so much in, trying to get as much content out, all before he left for the military the end of last yr! Writing lyrics, composing melodies, producing many songs, but if not credited always still participating, also coming up with concepts ideas, for look of MV’s as well as overseeing the filming & directing as well! Jimin even created the choreography for his song “Who”. Jimin also is involved in design of album covers, and choosing concept & look during photoshoots! To work on creating all this music, all this content non stop for almost a couple yrs is beyond mind boggling to think about! But I’m so grateful, so thankful that he did, so we can all appreciate & enjoy his on another level sheer masterful artistry while he’s away in the military til June of 2025! ️‍🫶 🙏👍❤️‍🔥🔥😅🥵🫠😍🤩🎉✨💫

I love that he sang a song that really showcases his vocals. According to the Mini-Moni chat he did with RM, he did do two months of vocal training to ensure his voice was healthy, The only other countertenor (higher than a tenor) I know of is Mitch Grassi of Pentatonix, the acapella group,( no dancing while singing either). Jimin also has a unique tonal quality in addition to his range. And he was contracted at 16 as a dancer!

BTS has ALWAYS been about quality to me. Even before they were famous, the sheer quality of their music stood miles above others. So many professional producers want to work with Jimin, i remember these group of Korean producers (who have produced hit songs in South Korea) who said they want to work with Jimin out of all bts members because of his unique vocal color and tone, that they wonder how it's like making songs with that voice lol. Yesssss! That “why why why why why” part is soo addictive to me. Also the studio version of Who is absolutely amazing but you should also check out the clip of him singing it acoustically. Whether on ur own or as a reaction but I think you’d be blown away even more. Like that man is insaneee. I genuinely think rn Jimin’s reached another peak like his voice sounds better than I’ve ever heard it before. He actually went to song camp for two months (I think it was) while working on MUSE to learn the basics of singing all over again and improve his voice without hurting his vocal cords. Dude can sign, dance and everything else. His high voice is natural but he has really worked to improve his vocals in the past several years. And his dance . . . perfection. And he apparently did the choreography for this - you should check out the dance practice. And also the live on Jimmy Fallon - they block things but if you filter you may get through - if not, watch on your own time. The vocals are live, with short breaks for him to catch his breath with the backing track. Very impressive - not sure how he wasn't gasping by the end. Thanks for your appreciation and musical knowledge! and your regard for the production and mixing. One voice commentator said that Jimin is actually a countertenor - and the high notes are D5s - way above the normal tenor range. And let's acknowledge the hard work of all the other dancers in the video/performance/dance practice!

It’s a masterpiece for me! I grew up w MJ and Jackson 5. Always loved that kind of music and I hear it in Jimins WHO. That man has a serious stop traffic, hold the boat kinda voice! I love the piano and Spanish guitar placements, his vocal range is crazy and his moves start at his feet but moves all the way up to his fingertips. I think that’s his superpower from his training in modern dance. He’s just an amazing artist that my ears love to hear and he’s a sweetheart.

As a voice teacher, while you have to be born with the talent, a lot of people have no clue what to do with it or how to use it, and that’s where I come in! I will say that if a student WANTS TO LEARN and puts in the effort they always grow. Knew a guy who had a voice from God but never grew, dropped out, barely sings anymore. Knew another guy who struggled but got a performance degree and sings and teaches and uses it! As an adjunct teacher I’d always get the students on the low end of the radar. One girl was told she’d never sing high but got the lead in the musical the next year. Jimin is a true student and constantly wants to grow. He and JungKook talk about singing and different ways to sing and use their voices. Jimin actually struggled with how to sing at first but he’s learned and done so well. Also, he is able to put emotion into his voice and convey that to the audience which a lot of singers, even good ones, can’t do. Charisma!

I’ve watched a lot of reactions to Jimin’s WHO and heard tons of adjectives to praise his voice and the song but it’s always refreshing to watch your reactions because you got something technical and also crazy praises to say yet still keeping things real! Some would just put him in a box with “high-pitched” but there is more in his voice than being high-pitched. Jimin truly has a unique and beautiful amazing vocals that he knows how to sing with!

✨Jimin’s name is credited in 6/7 songs, writing & composing for his already highly successful, record breaking 2nd album MUSE. Which I urge you to react to the other songs from! One of my favs that I know you’ll also enjoy is “Be Mine” which as of yet has just English lyric vid to watch. Jimin is also credited producing, with the exception of a couple of songs. Even on Jimin’s previous FACE album, though Jimin wasn’t credited producing, aside from Jimin composing most melodies, & pretty much writing all the lyrics, he indeed was involved, participating, as shown in Jimin’s FACE production documentary. Even though also not credited for song “Who” from his MUSE album, Jimin is always hands on, coming up with the concept of the song, what he wanted the lyrics to be about & mean. The concept photos even have Jimin in more of a rocker look with electric guitar, “Who” which is the title track which indeed MV of which does always get released the same time the album officially drops! The look of the MV, the quality of the filming, and especially the way Jimin looks, the way he walks, but most of all, his on another level, breathtakingly spectacular vocals, stratospheric high notes, Jimin’s equally breathtaking, absolutely spectacular, also on another level, dancing, as well as the stunning choreography, which Jimin created, along with the amazing backup dancers, makes this all the more enjoyable, to watch! Absolutely everything on another level. Jimin rushed to Hungary only for a ever so short couple of days to film this MV there, cramming in as much as he could just a month or so before leaving to the military. Working non stop on first FACE, then immediately after on MUSE since chapter 2 solos careers of the BTS members started til the very night before he left for military the following day! for this “Who”. And to add to this excitement to see an actual live performance of “Who” on Jimmy Fallon show which happened on Monday, July 22nd! ‍ 😆😅👍❤‍🔥🔥😍🤩🎉
