When Glick is on a roll any savvy guest knows to just sit back and enjoy it. Artie Lang was the perfect foil and thus a team player. He doesn't need to make it his moment.

That says alot about a person. Watch these interviews and notice the actors/comedians who cant let go and compete for center stage. I have to tell ya, in my opinion Martin Short in this character is so incredible.

@@canadianroot Jerry came with an arsenal but when that was exhausted, Jiminy flattened him. But, Miller, with his big brain played a chess match with Jiminy. It was an interesting match-up. True, it was not very funny because Miller was unwilling to let Jiminy penetrate his tough facade.

@@angeloiodice9304 Interesting take on it. He broke an improv rule, but there's opportunity in the edginess, the dark spaces, and I suppose it's worth looking at again. A bit of a rap battle of sorts, to use a metaphor.

No offense to Artie...I love Artie but Norm must've been sick or was busy or something and they needed someone that day. Artie didn't have much of a resume at the time to be interviewed by Martin Short... I never heard another guest talking about their "civilian" job...But good job Art!!!

its not a laugh track, this was filmed during down-time on the set of the Norm show and it was the shows seated audience laughing along. Actually the audience wasnt mic'd they are just bleeding thru the other mics

Artie Lange is a funny guy, and you can hear him laughing. making funny people laugh is a pretty great accomplishment. Martin Short was on fire as Jiminy. and besides, for such a Guy's Guy like Lange to respond to the Short's craft is great. it's obvious the respect is there.

He lost a ton of weight earlier this year and cleaned himself up. He was doing great. But he hasn’t posted anything on social media in months and it’s making some people think he relapsed yet again.

I think that's because most of them know which part they occupy in the straight man/funny man bit. Some actors have also done well. Few athletes seem to get it. The key is to have fun, roll with whatever Jiminy throws at you, and never ever try to be funnier than Martin Short.

hehe youre welcome. This one came from a very wierd episode. It was a "one off" episode i think, it was aired on free-to-air, late at night, and i never saw them air another episode on that channel. Just amazing luck that i rolled tape

i agree. having watched them all, if someone asked me to show them one of the Jiminy Glick bits, i would show them this one first it sums up everything he does and its the funniest of the lot
