From what I remember, there actually was some celebrities that had no idea Glick was Martin Short. After he became more popular for his short time (No pun intended) as Glick, they eventually knew. Some you can even tell who doesn't know.

Michael McGrath was a Tony Award- winning actor who primarily worked on Broadway for decades. Google his work. He also happened to be my best friend in show business and a mentor to me. We were in a few Broadway shows together. Incredibly, he passed away last Fall. Marty was one of his best friends.

I feel bad for Martin Short. he tried to have a sitcom on NBC it got cancelled rather quickly. a late night talk show that lasted one season. I think Jiminy Glick may have been the only successful show he did.
