BEAUTIFUL!! Historic Otis Series 2 Traction Elevators at Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge, LA.

Video Recorded on June 18, 2021: Wow. This is a beautiful old historic landmark!!!!!! :D I finally had the chance to get a much more better video of these amazing elevators here. Although these were modernized with Series 2 (controllers replaced but unsure about the motor), but it was very tasetfully done! The outside doors are all original and so are the call station plates having the Series 2 buttons retrofitted on them. What I really love is that the Autotronic panel is still there and it works too! Also, the lanterns on the lobby were replaced in the 50's when the Autotronic annunciator was first put in, and the Series 1 fire service fixtures were installed when they replaced the COP with Series 2 later on. Not to mention, these elevators were also VERY FAST too! The only unfortunate news is that the floors on the penthouse elevator were locked because the observation deck was closed. But nonetheless, I absolutely LOVE the main elevators too! Not only because they are fast and received a tasteful mod, but also the cabs and majority of everything outside in the elevator main hallways are still original. Well, I'm not sure if the cabs were replaced in the 50's or not. But anyway, I hope you enjoy this wonderful visit and a full-on better take on these amazing pieces of beauties! Oh and not to mention, these were the only elevators I filmed when we stopped down in Baton Rouge. Installed in 1931, modernized in the 50's with Otis Autotronic, and fixtures replaced sometimes around the 2000's.

Indeed this is a very nice building, but it sure is unusual and interesting that the Louisiana State Capitol is taller than the Texas State Capitol, even though everyone says everything is bigger in Texas.
