Live always with honor and Grace. Thank you for sharing your gift of music with us. Music can lift the spirit and turn a rough day, into one to remember for the good things we got to enjoy instead. Your music can be the instrument to bring that about. @ps1master-class1504 жыл бұрын
Bro... come on. Lol. Black people developed rock n roll with the godfather of rock(chuck berry), they are basically solely responsible for the blues, and their songs in the fields basically made gospel and hymnals a thing. But they did not start country music. It's ok. I'm not saying they cant contribute to it, just like SRV contributed to blues, or Em contributed to rap. But country stems from bluegrass, and even has more ties to Mexicans because of mariachi, and mexican farmers singing. It mostly developed from European folk music being carried over to the western world. Hence a similarity in instruments. The blues and rap are DOMINATED by brown skinned people. It's great, because they developed it. It mostly sounds best when that culture has its hand in it. Country is dominated by light skinned people. The lyrics, the way words are pronounced, the instruments, the history. Country can connect with anyone, but it was started and developed almost exclusively by white westerners.
@sethbrown89124 жыл бұрын
@@ps1master-class150 Country music originated in the early twentieth century among working-class Americans living in the south, especially in the Appalachian Mountains. Generations of musicians had blended English ballads with Celtic and Irish fiddle songs, adding influences from various European immigrants who settled nearby. Often overlooked was the influence of African Americans. Not only did jazz and the blues influence country artists, but also many white musicians, such as Hank Williams, learned their craft from black teachers. The banjo came to the United States from West Africa, played by slaves who taught picking techniques to their children. One of the Grand Ole Opry’s greatest stars, DeFord Bailey, was an African American harmonica player. While a number of musical genres influenced country music, scholars trace the origins of country music to eastern Tennessee. In the 1920s, studios in Bristol, Johnson City, and Knoxville produced the first recording sessions, capturing the intriguing sounds emerging among “mountaineer” musicians living in the Great Smoky Mountains. At the same time, a vibrant music scene in Atlanta pulsed with the music brought by former Appalachian residents who had come to the bourgeoning metropolis to work in its cotton mills. They formed a sizable audience who yearned for the “hillbilly music” they had left behind. Music promoters now had the necessary ingredients to commercialize country music. When a promoter “discovered” Fiddlin’ John Carson, country music became an official genre in the landscape of American music. You probably think that Country music is a "White" music because of the way it was marketed. While it had a strong popular following among rural people, as the White middle-class began to grow and have more disposable income, the Country music marketers focused solely on that audience as a steady source of revenue. The other audiences were not served as well and thus the music became less important to them over the many years.
