Pure Texas style. When I saw him a few years ago he stayed after the show until all autographs were signed and pictures were taken with fans. A true Texas gentleman and guitar legend. God Bless you Jimmie!

Jimmie should write a book about his early beginnings, his life as a musician and Stevie Ray. I'm sure it would be a fascinating story and a great tribute.

I love how Jimmie has an economical way of playing that still says so much. Stevie was different in that respect but legendary of course. Jimmie has such a pure blues feel that is so underrated by so many. I believe he could sit and talk the blues all day and it would never be boring. He's a treasure!
@davidgarza13013 жыл бұрын
Man I agree Jimmie says more by saying less with his playin! SRV is a legend but Jimmie is still so underrated in my book and my preferred, closer to that T Bone Walker electric blues feel.
@kevindean13272 жыл бұрын
There was a point where Jimmy actually said that he wasn't playing any of the "other stuff" and decided he was strictly going to play Blues. It wasn't always like that though. Austin Bluesman Bill Campbell said "Hell , The Chessmen were like 15 years old and they were making a good living being local rock stars, and Jimmy was playing his ass off. It was just rock and roll, and he was playing Clapton, but it sounded better. His inflections were better-the whole thing". Another Texas legend Denny Freeman said "Of all the gum chewing guys with a shag haircut and a Les Paul that you've ever seen, he was the best. The first time I saw him, he was about 16, so I was around 23- it blew my mind real bad".
@louiscarrillo587311 ай бұрын
economical? its busy but not in a way that clouds the tune. hes carrying the time and singing and soloing, thats alot of work. kinda reminds me of african music. just great.
@NorsePJ11 ай бұрын
@@louiscarrillo5873Yes, economical. I was referring to his guitar playing style, not his singing. He plays with far fewer notes compared to his brother, which sees him being more in the style of B.B. King.

Perfection - The man always plays what's necessary, rather than the unnecessary and knows about the gaps between the notes being just as important as the notes themselves - the sign of a great player . . .

I meant Jimmie Vaughan Maybe 5 years ago in Santa Cruz with Lou Ann Barton. He signed my album T-Bird rhythm. And I gave him a 55 Thunderbird model. And you look straight at me and said I'll cherish this. One of my best friends Ron Thompson of Ron Thompson and resistors was good friends with Jimmie Vaughan. Maybe you'll never read this Jimmy but I sure do you appreciate you and you life's work and of course your brother to many blessings to you and your family and all your love. Beautiful Stratocaster by the way I want one I want one. ::-)

Jimmy is more of a blues purist than his brother. In certain respects, Stevie was chasing Jimi Hendrix, in part, while his brother was solidly planted in the blues. This isn't a put down of Stevie and his thing. It's just an observation.

One of the worst guitar players I’ve ever heard. Many smoke his pole because of who his brother was. Jimmy couldn’t play the pentatonic scale with four fingers if his life depended on it.
