Jimmy Barnes is Aussie pub music legend...Us Aussies had 2 keep this legend ere in Australia as we've shared many other great bands with the world like AC/DC, INXS & more... Jimmy Barnes is Aussie pride

Awesome song & a personal fave of mine. Mark Lizotte is playing the guitar solo, also known as Johnny Diesel or Diesel. He’s another great musician/singer to check out & Jimmy’s brother-in-law since 1989. Great vid✌🏼

Read Jimmy's book "working class boy" incredible read and very effectively explains where that soul and emotion came from. Very hard life.

Jimmy just turned 66 year's old and released two new song's Soothe Me with Sam Moore and Do you love me with Josh Teskey. He is touring his new album but he came down with Corona and had to postpone his latest show. I hope you keep going with Jimmy you have 49 years worth of music to choose from starting with his band Cold Chisel in the 70,s try Cold Chisel (Goodbye).

If looking for Jimmy showing what soul really is, you need to showcase Jimmy singing Stone Cold with Joe Bonamassa. THAT is guaranteed to rock your world! Other honourable mentions of Jimmy's include Working Class Man, I'd die to be with you tonight and literally anything he did with Cold Chisel! Great review!!

Love Jimmy. His voice is so unique powerful and full of Soul. He didn't need a past life to develop that voice. The troubles and pain that he has lived through in his current life will do that to you. If you keep going down this rabbit hole the Aussies will no doubt fill you in. Jimmy preferred to stay at home in Australia. No doubt the Aussies will also fill you on on why. Can't wait to hear more from Jimmy. And Cold Chisel. More from Farnsey would also be appreciated

That's not Ian Moss on the lead guitar, it's Mark Lizotte aka Diesel aka Johnny Diesel and is brother in law to Jimmy Barnes. Ian Moss is a great guitarist though, so is Diesel.

Love your comments. Jimmy came from humble beginnings and his battle and triumph over addiction shows in his soul which is displayed for all to see. A sensational human being and singer, he is the made from the right stuff - a legend in the true sense of the word and incredible role model.

Mate! We ARE the Aussie comment spammers 🤣 you can’t get rid of us, we take our work very seriously 😆 Jimmy started out as mostly a rock singer with his band Cold Chisel (most Australians vote Cold Chisel as the best ever Aussie rock band- above INXS and AC/DC!) - but Jimmy himself admits he’s always been a soul singer. His soul voice is better now than ever. Hope to see more from you! Thanks so much!

You ask why you never heard of this song before and it’s true, you missed out. Cold Chisel went to Nth America in the early 80s and had a bad experience there with record executives wanting them to be something they weren’t prepared to be. So they came back and decided that Australia (and NZ) were enough for them. Then Jimmy went and recorded most of the album Barnestorming, (which is where this song is on), in America, and it didn’t do well on the charts. I wish he went to Canada instead of the US, because I think Canadians would’ve appreciated him. Oh well, our gain is North America’s loss..
@iankearns7742 жыл бұрын
Barnsey toured Nth America around the time he released Working Class man but for some reason he didn't take off as he should have, I remember seeing a clip of him on a US breakfast TV Show performing live around 1984. Tyranny of distance mate, having to tour all 50 states and Canada and carting all the gear from Australia needed deep pockets I guess.

Jimmy is a huge legend in Australia. I believe he has more number 1 albums in Australia than any artist in the world has anywhere.... If you want to discover a real rabbit hole, you need to check out Cold Chisel. Jimmy was the lead singer. In all seriousness, check out Bow River live in 1983 by Cold Chisel. Then try anything else.... you'll love it. Khe Sanh You've Got Nothing I Want Conversations live in 1980 off the Swingshift album Flame Trees Forever Now Letter To Alan, about one of their roadies dying.... Chisel are one of the best rock bands ever, and only Australia knows them. Do yourself a favour

The reason you haven't heard it is cos the American music industry is so insular & powerful. They push crap American artists all over the world, but restrict anyone else to just a few token artists. If you don't believe me, look at the dance music scene in Belgium after MTV purchased their local cable music station TMF (The Music Factory) and changed the playlist overnight. Once huge bands such as Milk Inc, Sylver and Lasgo were banished from their channel overnight simply some cocaine-snorting arsehole in their New York HQ didn't like the music. This imperialism shits me so mucu, you have no idea. And that power stretches to radio - if you don't play what they want, you won't get exclisives with the American artists in interviews etc.
