@@Shakes-P If you want some Kiwi flavour too, Noiseworks lead singer from there and another good live rock band of late 80's and early 90's down this next of the woods. Live version of "Tell It Like it Is" from MTV in Australia certainly worth a look and less known than their other hits.

Cold Chisel is just so much a part of life growing up in Australia in the 70's that it is hard to imagine life without that sound track. They truly are one of the greatest bands in history. For the other side of awesome do Breakfast at Sweethearts, and Flame Tree.

You'd really enjoy the original video of the very young Jimmy and band rockin' out and giving that industry guy a spray with full venom on their return. Apparently Jimmy didn't waste any time knocking it out on paper.

This was the perfect response ...I like the earlier version best as it was when they were angry and still raw. You definately need to get to Australia...nothing better than a chisel concert. They pull the band together every now and again. Most of them are still performing but separately these days

Chisel are my fave group ever. The started way back in the 70's. I was a teenager in the 80's and they were at their height for about fifteen years or so. The band split in the late 80's and that's when Jimmy and the guitarist Ian Moss went on to solo careers. Jimmy did best, including the end credits song to the Michael Keaton movie called Gung Ho in America. The movie was called Working Class Man everywhere else. The song was also called Working Class Man. That was Jimmy's highest hit in the USA. Cold Chisel had a couple of reunion stints but then reformed full time in 2009 and are still going. They've produced five studio albums since reforming plus thirteen retrospective live albums. They still rock just as hard. Welcome to the dark side, you'll never escape

Moving on from Cold Chisel bandmembers Ian Moss, had a successful solo career, drummer Steve Prescott joined Little River Band, Sadly passed away in 2011 Don Walker who wrote most of their songs collaborated with other artists and Jimmy Barnes also has had an amazing solo career ever since. He has worked with numerous overseas artists but l particularly like his collaborations with the great American guitarist Joe Bonamassa which his daughter Mahalia Barnes was a backup singer for years. Songs Stone Cold, Lazy, and Walking Up The Road in which he sings with his daughter who has a phenomenal voice. Also you should check out her singing with Joe Bonamassa a powerhouse performance on Riding With The Kings.

I'll probably cop it here but the albums & live performances from their classic early years are far superior to anything from the later reformation years, You gotta remember these guys broke up in 1983 & didn't reunite until 1997. I still enjoy this reaction but there's just a different energy when people are in their 20's and at a peak.
