DJaySplitSecond no they would've, the j5 had better voices and voice contrtol.. I love Jimmy Briscoe as well, but I am keeping fair is why I'm NOT adding choreography nor the song writers.. Micheal voice had poise & control..Even as a child he had the ability to control his wind and knowing exactly when to peak and not over sing a song.. it this which set him apart from from many and any others to come after him.. now Frankie Lyndon would've truly gave him a run for his money... no one else,sorry.. respectively, bc I too love Jimmy Briscoe, but he was no Micheal Jackson..

I Love Jimmy Briscoe and the Beavers, I actually own the original LP with "My Ebony Princess" my favorite songs are "Where Were You When I Needed You" and "Together" . I see Multiple comments making reference and comparing them and other's of their time to the Jackson's. Jimmy Briscoe and the Beavers, The Sylvers, and let's not forget, 21st Century, the Ponderosa Twins or the Brighter Side of Darkness., All of whom were extremely talented (FYI, I own ALL the original Debut LPs from these Groups) Everyone is also saying "if not for Joe Jackson" or "if not for Berry Gordy and Motown". Smh, that's a Crock of Crap, the Jackson's were a big hit because a 10 or 12 year old kid, in the front, who Sang and Danced like he was a Seasoned Veteran of 35 years, was unparalleled in his talent (not seen since little Sammy Davis Jr) Joe Jackson, Berry Gordy nor Motown made Michael Jackson, The Lord Did, and there's no arguing, we have yet to see another as fully and completely talented as Michael Jackson. So stop with these crazy comparisons and let these very gifted cats (Jimmy Briscoe, 21st Century, The Sylvers, The Ponderosa Twins, The Brighter Side of Darkness, etc....) hold their honored place in R&B history, and let Michael Jackson and his Brother be. My apologies to Jimmy Briscoe and the Beavers for my rant above, believe me my Brother's, when I got hip to your music in the early 80's I fell in love with it, and I went to every oldies/rare/hard to find record shop until I coped your debut album and 21st Century's debut album at the same time, still have it today, the jacket is worn, but the LP is in perfect condition. @missayawk Remember, there were the Jackson 5, Osmonds and many other young acts of that time. Jackson 5 was blessed to be a part of Motown which was a POWER in the music industry during that time. Sometimes its about whose backing/or not backing a act that separates them from the pack. MJ himself was like a lot of young talented acts but he had a special element about him(he was a performer from birth and the pops really made sure the bros. were ON POINT)

Well remember this is at a time when a lot of Young Black Groups tried to follow (not copy)The Jackson 5.I think it is all about being successful in the business which these Groups wanted. The 21st Century, The Brighter Side of Of Darkness ect.I think they looked up to the The J5 .We never knew what Jimmy Briscoe and the Beavers would have become if they would have gotten that one big break or just more National exposure. I read a comment right here on one of the posts about the Group by the one and only Paul Kyser the one who Produced them said the Group was turned down by Don Cornelius a few times. Paul stated that he felt that they saw Jimmy as a threat to the Jackson Five at that present time. They were up and coming and hit a wall right there. These were Paul's very words right here on KZbin. I will try to search for the Post. In the music biz...Who knows?
