What a truly moving ceremony. When my husband died I was so young, just 27 years old, I was so traumatized that I don’t remember much of the service at the cemetery, but I vividly remember the flag being handed to me.

I felt very sorry for the Navy lady chaplain, she was on duty all day from early in the morning in DC Rotunda to the plain of Georgia, wearing high heel shoe, where temperatures is under 35 degree, her front shoe were only a quarter inch thick, the temperature was so cold, she must be freezing for the long contact with the cement ground. ❤

Wow what a great man. Carter was "my first President" when I became aware of politics around 7 years old...because my grandad used to get the sunday paper and Id read the funnies...then gradually started reading the news.... I remember being confused when our helicopters crashed trying to rescue the hostages in Iran because I grew up thinking us Americans were invincible...besides Reagan I cant remember a President afterwards who felt like he was an actual American

What could I say that hasn't already been said of this great man? I was continually astounded by the military professionalism of all those who were part of the funeral. Not a goof made. President Carter would have been so proud of these men and women who showed the utmost respect for him. May he now rest in peace knowing he did make the world better than he found it.
