Jimmy Carter, the longest-living former president in U.S. history, is getting ready to celebrate his 99th birthday this weekend, seven months after entering hospice care. NBC’s Andrea Mitchell reports for TODAY.

I remember back when he was running for president I had never been involved in politics but for some reason wanted everyone in the united states to vote for him.
