If anything this was very fun to make....I turn square plates for clients and some tehniques are used on both pieces.

I like the contrast between the wood types. I can see where you meant the curve was too much. I just finished something similar (inspired by the last four ways) and the connecting points between the top and bottom were supposed to look delicate. I feel like they look fragile. I'll post it Thursday on IG and bring it to your attention. Watching you finish the bottom was another lesson I used in finishing the bottom of my recent piece. The tenon was supposed to remain as part of the form but it looks like I need a bit more practice getting the perfect sized tenon. It was 0.4mm too small so on went the 35mm jaws with teeth, meaning it had to go at the end. I enjoyed watching those effortless cuts into the wings. Be well.
