My kid had covid and he had a sore throat, fever and runny nose for a couple days and enjoyed his 2 weeks off from school. I got covid and I ended up in the hospital twice. It effects everyone differently. I was out of work for 3 and half weeks without pay. Luckily some co workers donated a weeks worth of sick days to me which i was so grateful for that. At the same time that shouldn't have to happen were people have to donate their hard earned time because you're expendable at work.

I've had it twice. First was before we had thought it had come into the US back in early Feb 2020. That one I had symptoms that were flu-like, but mild. I got over it in 3 days, but I have a very overactive immune system (I rarely get sick except with bronchitis due to my immune system). Second time was Omicron in January. All I had was major sinus pressure where I couldn't breathe out of my nose majority of the time. No other symptoms. I have all three vaccine shots back then. I got over it in 3-4 days. The vaccine works.

It was completely gone for about a week, then one morning i took a REGULAR dose of zinc, and by noon it was gone. I honestly don’t know if it was coincidence or not, but that is exactly what happened. Other than that, the symptoms were of a really bad cold and really tired.

He’s talking about “brain fog” in my opinion. It causes you to feel mentally very weird. A very similar thing happened to be when I got mono in January 2020. It started to affect me mentally. I basically started to regress in an emotional sense- my “fuse” (so to speak) became so short. The littlest things would set me off and I was just not having it- maybe it was because I was sick, so I stopped caring. But my mom was taking care of me at the time and I was _disturbingly_ mean to her. So much so that weeks after I’d recovered, I apologized to her one day, “Look, I’m sorry I got so mean and short-tempered with you; I didn’t feel like I was in my right mind.” And she says to me, “I’m glad you said something because you were acting _very_ strangely and not like yourself at all.” My grandmother still is convinced I got a very early Covid case but I don’t think so because 1) I came back positive for the Epstein-Barr virus (mono) and 2) Three months later I took an antibody test and it showed no Covid antibodies, so unless they all dissipated, I didn’t have it. I just had a very bad, _very weird_ case of mono.

I had Delta back in February 2020 before vaccines or anything. Explaining the worst case as 'analogue' makes sense to me. I had to crawl, it was visceral, yet it didn't feel real. I've had the flu before, so the flu is familiar. This wasn't 'real'. I couldn't put it anywhere. I was gone off the planet for three months, the worst time being when I managed to take my temperature and I had 40,5° degrees Celcius and was about to call an ambulance but couldn't even be bothered anymore, I thought I was dead already anyway. And yes, I'm in my twenties, if I had been older, I don't want to imagine. The sheer raw fear is not explainable. I was hallucinating. My lungs and weakness just only started to get better. I lost nealy 25 kilo's in a matter of days and I'm already small.
