Obesity is considered a comorbidity for COVID-19. Most recent estimate for obesity in U.S. is 42.4%. So even before talking about all of the other common comorbidities, you would expect that just on obesity alone 42.4% of COVID deaths would have a comorbidity. Once you add up the prevalence of chronic liver disease, chronic lung disease, chronic kidney disease, heart conditions, diabetes, etc., the majority of the U.S. population has at least one comorbidity.

As it happens, I have high blood pressure, and have done so for about twenty years. My wife had an almost lethal case of pneumonia as a child, and so has massively scarred lungs, and has done so for over forty years. Both of these are underlying conditions. If either of us were to catch COVID and die, then neither of us would be reported on a list of COVID deaths "without underlying conditions". It does not change the fact that both of us can reasonably expect another twenty to forty years of life if we do not catch COVID. Surely that is not a hard concept to understand - but clearly it is too hard for Jimmy Dore when he can make a profit from calculated stupidity.

People who say that probably don't realize they know and love at least a few people in that group. And that’s exactly what John Cambell dishonestly omit - as well as the fact that ALL CASES where COVID-19 is registered as cause of death is when they’re absolutely sure that COVID-19 was the CAUSAL factor. This means there’s people who very likely could have lived maybe a year, maybe several years more, if they just hadn’t got infected - were it isn’t registered as being due to COVID-19, but due to the preexisting condition! Add to this that John Cambell also omitted that at least in the beginning of the pandemic, the UK only registered those who died at a hospital after having been tested positive - so a huge chunk of especially elderly people who died at home or at care facilities, or simply died before getting tested, wasn’t registered as being due to COVID-19……

Yeah, that third number, on the paper said "with covid", not necessarily that covid contributed to the death, like the Dr of nursing practice stated. The second number is the deaths due to covid that the government and media use. That just means some 20k people died "with covid", and not due to covid. No real contradiction in the numbers. As for the first number, like Sam said, you'd have to look at all the hundreds of other things people die of. If you find about a 30k reduction than average, then there's no contradiction between the first and second number. If they're isn't a 30k reduction there, then maybe covid deaths were slightly overreported. The doctor of nursing is also wrong, about being able to use UK excess mortality for other countries. Each country is different. The US' excess mortality was higher than reported covid deaths. Unlike the UK, that means people were either dying of other things in higher than average numbers, or that covid deaths were underreported.

I love how he just instantly skips over the sharp increase in total deaths, and slowly makes excuses as to why people aren't dying of covid. Car deaths were actually up in 2020. Less people on the road, but more were speeding creating higher fatalities and work related deaths were only slightly down. Suicide was slightly lower. They all pretty much cancel each other out. The excess death rate is pretty accurate.

He cites a Gallup article, which very clearly states their hospitalization rates are based on the total population, 0.01% for the total vaccinated population, and 0.89% for the total unvaccinated population. Now, you'd think that maybe the unvaccinated being hospitalized at 89x the rate of the unvaccinated might be a big deal to talk about, but no. Jimmy claims to have looked for a comparable "death rate". The only comparable death rate, to total population hospitalization rates, is the covid crude mortality rate. That number is easy to find, all you have to do is take the deaths per million rate and move the decimal 4 spaces to the left, 0.27%. It's also easy to do the math yourself. Apparently, the crack Dore knob team wasn't capable of doing either. Instead, Jimmy says he couldn't find a "death rate" from the past year and a half, so uses one from a year and a half ago. The 3.4% he uses is clearly a case fatality rate, deaths per confirmed case. Aside from not being comparable to the total population hospitalization rates, a current case fatality rate is also easy to find, and also easy to work out the math yourself. Even using the wrong rate, the crack Dore knob team was too stupid to figure out the current one. So, he takes those incomparable rates, and since 3.4% is sooooo much higher than 0.89%, he makes out like covid deaths are being "WILDLY inflated". He's either completely ignorant, or completely dishonest, or both.

@@mensspace9519 Let's say there's a 50% efficacy vaccine. It has been given to a high risk person. That 50% applies when they're in direct contact with a virus carrier. For every additional vaccinated person you add, between the high risk person and the carrier, you increase the protection another 50%. 1 person = 75%. 2 people = 87.5%. 3 people = 93.75%. Etc. Even if you're not personally high risk, you're helping to add an additional line of protection, by being vaccinated. That's the whole point of trying to achieve herd immunity. Vaccines aren't just about the individual vaccinated.

The idea that all the protective measures taken to combat COVID - masking, ubiquitous hand santizers, social distancing, closures/lockdowns, etc. - would have ZERO effect on the spread of contagious diseases like the flu is nuts. On average (pre-COVID), 36k Americans died each year from the flu. The doctor writing the certificate would ordinarily be a lot more specific about the patient’s final condition. He made some of his own mistakes, if that's what they are. One country's excess mortality rate can't be used to deduce anything about other countries. The US' excess mortality rate, for example, is higher than recorded covid deaths. That's the reverse of the UK, so something completely different is going on, in the US. That third number, on the paper says died "with covid", not that covid was necessarily a contributing factor, as he said. That second number is the one the government and media report as deaths due to covid. That simply means some 20k people have died "with covid", but not due to covid.

He obviously does a lot of research and understands medical studies and is able to break things down easily but he isn't a medical dr.

Misinformation about what? What did he say that had been proven wrong? He truly cares about vulnerable people and tells them to get vaccinated and boosted. He also knows about early treatments for covid like fluvoxamine. He isn't getting paid to make his videos. There are countless doctors that agree with him.

@@adaminfinity1733 I don't think that dr C. is malicious in his actions but I remember that it took him at least a week (it was all over r/covid19) to get up to date with the blood clot risk of the AZ vaccine. Before that he was downplaying it as run-of-the-mill blood clots which they weren't. Also he was happy to jump on the ivermectin hype train based on flimsy evicence.

In Australia where Covid 19 was not a major cause of death in either 2019 or 2020 the total number of deaths fell in 2020 by 5% on 2019 and fell again in 2021. Despite recording nearly 900 Covid related deaths in the first 9 months of 2021 deaths from respiratory diseases fell significantly. This was clearly a consequence of Covid mitigation measures (masks, social distancing etc) reducing the incidence of the flu. Such measures were also taken in the UK so without Covid 19 mortality rates should have fallen as they did in Australia. The excess deaths of 120,000+ referenced in the video was therefore a minimum attributable to Covid19.

Doesn’t matter. All he does is read scientific studies and explain medical stuff, which he is trained to do. His videos even debunk a lot of what the likes of dore claim. There’s a reason dore has only used 2 brief snippets from hundreds of Campbell’s videos. Dore doesn’t care whether campbell is a doctor or not.

This isn't complicated. Jimmy Dore explained it recently in one of his KZbin shows: Jimmy wants the KZbin shows to sell tickets to his live performances. To do that, Dore wants the biggest audience possible. Like any good performer, he looks at the metrics of different shows. The shows where Dore gets angry, rants, and ignores facts contrary to his narrative get the biggest audience. So those are the shows he does. People who've been watching him for a long time see that he briefly tried to be "serious" and organize for "Force the Vote" and The People's Party, but that proved unpopular and doesn't sell tickets to his live performances. So he's largely abandoned that. Jimmy Dore is a businessman. He's in this to make money. He's making more money than he ever could have as just a standup comedian, where he was moderately successful at best. He never hit the "big time"--but now his KZbin channel has made him rich. Jimmy won't kill the goose that laid the golden egg and cross KZbin, despite his frequent complaints. Stop looking to a self-described "jagoff comedian in his garage" for insightful political analysis or leadership on any issues. That's not why Dore is here. He's here for himself. Just understand this is his business model, be entertained, and end it there. Dore does sometimes have interesting, thoughtful guests, such as Max Blumenthal and Glenn Greenwald, but I noticed that such guests are becoming less and less frequent because, again, Dore doesn't get a lot of views for those "serious" programs. Rants = views and views = money. If you understand that Dore is an entertainer who wants to make money, and that politics is just a way to do that, then you understand him very well. By the way, I used to be a defender/supporter and found him funny. But Dore shifted and hasn't made a secret of why he did that. The worst part of it is that he's not even that funny; he's become increasingly an angry man who yells at the camera and has lost his comedic detachment. Where this will take him, I don't know. Certainly the American public have always rewarded mediocrity, and Dore has cast himself in this role. I think eventually his audience will dwindle but never entirely disappear. Dore has already sidelined himself and there's no coming back from the path he's taken. And so it goes.
