Considering this seems like it was filmed on your average 1999 camcorder, the sound quality is amazing.

Incredible, pure talent

PS: not a camcorder. It was actually filmed on a giant camera like they use for tv news. A Georgia Tech student brought it to the venue in a van - I assume from Tech's tv station. That's why it's so high quality - it was a legit piece of gear.

Wish they continued doing some of this Drive Like Jehu-y, noisey, dual-guitar stuff after the first couple records.... Also, you know you're an emo band from Mesa, AZ when your drummer has a straight up goatee and either has a jet ski or would love to ride a jet ski. Oh this is so good, I'm so glad this recording is preserved and that it was filmed with such a good camera. The audio quality for a camera recording is NUTS! "What I Would Say to You Now" sounds so great here. It almost sounds ahead of its time when I think about the songs that would come out in the next few years. Great band doing a great performance of a legendary album!!!

My favourite version of Lucky Denver Mint, Softer & For Me This is Heaven This version of Lucky Denver mint sounds like it'd fit right at home on Static Prevails Softer is the roughest it's ever sounded but the pure energy of this one makes me crease For Me This is Heaven has elements of Lucky Denver Mint mixed in but it's very apparent in this version, really making the song and the whole album feel a bit more connected
@harvardh Жыл бұрын
Totally agree with this version Lucky Denver Mint fitting on Static. For Me This Is Heaven was the best version I ever heard. It's violent and raw compared to the Clarity version. This whole show is what Clarity would of sounded like without Trombino imo.

not as well known unless you were a local college kid. coincidentally John Mayer started his career when he moved to Atlanta the same year; both him and Jimmy Eat World did not become big until around 2001 but were the local talk regardless. The Middle was HUGE in high school !!

To me and my friends they were bigger than ever and we couldn’t imagine them being bigger. I mean they went from supporting shows at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster to headlining. I mean that’s a thousand person venue how much bigger could they get? Clarity was a fantastic record and 20 years later I still play it pretty often.

Not huge. Lucky Denver Mint and Seventeen managed to get on the Never Been Kissed soundtrack, and Lucky Denver Mint managed some radio airplay. Capitol Records was clearly hoping for bigger things from them, which is why the band was dropped from their label sometime around 2000, leading them to raise money by touring and selling the B sides album, then using the money to self-fund production of what became Bleed American.
