Without Jimmy Murphy many believe Manchester United Football Club may not have survived Munich when eight of our Busby Babes perished in the crash that also left The Boss fighting for his life. Less than 3 months after the Munich Air Disaster . . . Jimmy Murphy miraculously led Manchester United out for the FA Cup Final at Wembley on 3rd May 1958.
65 years later a statue in honour of Jimmy Murphy will be unveiled at Old Trafford's Stretford End.

"It’s a remarkable story and the subject of a documentary I’ve been filming for a number of years," says filmmaker John Gubba. "Fans from all over the world will be here to pay tribute to one of the most important characters in the history of our football club. One devoted fan has literally travelled from the other side of the world to be here for this unique occasion. And today I’ve been chatting to the man from down under who’s a huge fan both of Manchester United and the great Jimmy Murphy."
