This is the penultimate of 27 sides recorded for Paramount under his name by O'Bryant between November 1924 and January 1926. Jimmy Blythe is the pianist throughout all 11 sessions; the washboard is played by Jasper Taylor on all but the final three sessions - November, December 1925 and January 1926 - on which W.E.Burton does the percussive honours. This side (matrix no. 912-2) was issued on PM 12339. The song, the melody of which comes from 'folk' origins - probably Eastern European - was first recorded under her authorship by Trixie Smith for the Black Swan label in the fall of 1922.
