This is my new review which I wrote about the spiritual side of Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, what Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore and Tony Iommi believed in. Why Ozzy wrote Mr Crowley. Why Anger put a curse on Led Zeppelin. Blackmore visits Jimmy Page's Boleskine.

I watched an 80s satanic-panic documentary on Heavy Metal music. The reporter quoted Ritchie Blackmore, when asked about Jimmy Page performing ceremonies and casting spells during shows, if he (Blackmore) incorporated any occult aspects into his stage performances. He was quoted as saying ; "No, but I do like to astral travel around the arena I'm playing in and make sure that everyone is having a good time ". 😂

I almost died the same way. I had drunk myself into oblivion. When I got home, I fell out of the passenger side door and head first into fresh snow in the middle of a blizzard. It took three guys to hoist me up and bring me to my room. My oldest sister happened by and heard loud gurgling noise coming from my room. She came in and saw me vomiting while laying on my back in bed. I was completely out. She took the sheets and folded me over onto my left side. She tucked the sheets in between the mattress and box frame. When I did wake, there was vomit all over my long black hair that was hanging over the edge of the bed. My sister was a paramedic. She saved my life.

Abraxas is a ancient deity that is made up of the composite elements of Duality ( Light /Dark/Good/Evil ) - It reflects all things . Prior to a lot of religions people believed in duality it just got divided and when the persian Zoroastrianism religion was born it had two gods one good one evil and that’s why from that point on people thought you had to be either but couldn’t be both .

i lived in Inverness when i was 20. some friends and i drove up to loch ness and found the Boleskin House. we walked up and around the house, and started walking towards a building in the back, which was boarded up, with "beware the anteater" spray painted on it, and an old 1950s car parked in front. we thought the message was funny, but as we drew closer, a feeling of dread came over us, and we grew quiet. several large horseflies started buzzing around my eyes and mouth. my friend noticed, grabbed my arm, yelled for me to run, and we hightailed it back past the main house, down the country road to the tiny cemetery where our friends waited by the car. i remember it like it was yesterday, even though it was more than 25 years ago. i dont know what spooked us so bad, but we felt it in our souls

I'd argue it was easier to find genuine interest. Now it is diluted. Back then you had to do actual research and then find out the address or phone number of the person you're interested in talking to so full dedication to the topic was required. Today thousands of people comment and make shitty unthoughtfull content. Finding good content and then connecting with the creator is almost impossible getting lost in the flood of random browsers.

Ahhh…..a lot of this is very murky and as soon as “Magick” is mentioned, everyone loses their mind. Most “proper” occultists regard everything that one says, thinks or does, is trying to manipulate something. In fact the practice of prayer in any form, you are attempting to alter reality. Also, you have to be very careful what you wish for. Without certain permissions given, your striving for money or riches may come at a terrible price. Like your wife died, and now you are a millionaire. When you only know bits and pieces of Occultism, it can appear dark or evil. But I must point out, where did the occult land Jimmy Page ? Starting late Zeppelin, Jimmy’s musical skills started to erode and he became a junkie, coke fiend and eventually heavy alcoholic. The curse of Midas had too many coincidences to be dismissed, although some will say Jimmy just fell apart naturally. Whatever.

I went up and visited Boleskine house in the summer of 2000. I thought it was a beautiful house and I could see the lovely chandelier thru the windows. I stood on the road in front of it but I did not want to bother the couple who owned it because they sometimes got nutters knocking on their door asking about Black Magic, Jimmy Page, Crowley, etc. On the other side of the road was a small graveyard. I wondered in my mind, "I wonder if Crowly tunneled over into the graveyard to dig up bodies or do something freaky"........ Anyway, it grieves me to see it burnt down. It really was a lovely house in a lovely Scottish forest.

You talked about stuff I never knew. Evil knows no boundaries. I've been a hard rock and metal head since the 1970s and still am. Where there's good they'll always be evil. There's alot of bands from that era and I'm sure there's plenty more today who used satanism because they either thought it was cool, would sell albums or because they really are. I myself have repented my many sins. Today I have a solid relationship with God.

Absolutely. Rock and roll, has always been about rebellion. What better way to rebel against your parents, and society in general, than to reject their religious traditions? Well, I'm 71 and I remember hearing a few songs by a band called Led Zeppelin on a cool FM underground station I used to listen to. So I went to where they were playing when they came to Cleveland at a theatre that held about two thousand people and there were maybe 100 there. They had to ask if anyone played bass in the audience because John Paul's father had passed away and he flew back to England. I went up and sat in the front row. Suffice to say that Led Zepplin rearranged my brain, tossed it up in the air and put it back together just as nice as you please. They had a big board full of symbols like crosses and mythological creatures and such and I think it was Robert who asked everybody to pick a symbol out for fun. It was never supposed to be satanic as I understood it.

@@etishome4099 As I understand the "evil" tag is from Aleister Crowley promoting himself as such. This hype boosted his following. Although he lived with reckless abandon and a Christian would likely call him a wicked man and be certain he is undergoing everlasting torment in Hell I doubt many people would place him alongside dictators, serial killers and mass murderers under the heading of evil people. King Herod, Henry VIII, Elizabeth Bathory; Mary, Queen of Scots; Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, Ed Gein, Slobodan Milošević, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc killed much more people than Crowley did, which I understand was 0. If your definition of _evil_ is deliberately harming others you could name many worse people of the past and present who aren't necessarily satanists. At least some of them are and have been even supposedly Christian.

@@etishome4099 I think that many musical artists, particularly in some metal subgenres, are faux satanists. Satan signifies rebellion and pretending to follow him boosts musical artists' record sales among similarly rebellious people. Presuming Satan exists I think that most people, including the faux satanists, don't actually want to encounter him and their hearts would freeze if they did. Many of those people who use Satan to scare people and boost musical sales are actually scared of Satan themselves. If Satan exists and is as the Bible and demonologists say he is encountering him would likely be terrifying.

I loved Bonham, his last few years were so tragic. The drug and alcohol abuse became out of control, even for rock stars. There's a passage in John Lennon's biography about Bonzo being a regular visitor to his NY apartment when heroin was their daily drug of choice. How Bonham survived that long abusing substances as long as he did is in itself quite remarkable. The 🐐, still to this day...

Agree- great documentary. I just wish people would get a handle or “ true Biblical understanding “ of what Satan and his demons really are. Neither Satan nor his demons are “ Lords of Hell or rule over Hell” that’s all medieval folklore .. Hell was created by God as an eventual punishment for Satan and his demons. They don’t want to go to Hell any more than anyone else does . They are not there yet but will eventually be consigned there in eternal torment along with all who reject Christ as their savior. God is the one who rules over Hell, not Satan. The most terrifying thing about Hell is God. Because when one goes to Hell, they experience God’s full measure of wrath and Judgment. I don’t think for a minute these Rock stars understand that. I pray for them especially Jimmy Page that he comes to know Christ as his savior while there is still time.. anyway. Great documentary overall. Well done.

Jimmy page was the leader, not only of the band, of the alleged rituals they performed. He was the initiator, most competent wizard. His on stage robes, violin bow; opening his soul as a portal for the darkness. I’ve read Crowleys works, this is achievable but at a severe personal and spiritual cost. The fact is: Jimmy Page was selected; he solicited the darkness and imposed it onto the audience. His reward: a life unburdened, with all the worlds love and admiration, for all time. His cost: his soul.

As a teenager I was heavily influenced by Dio, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, and Ozzy's solo music, which f**k*d with my head pretty good. All the demonic imagery was displayed on their albums yet it was just for "entertainment". Now the truth has come out about their occultic black magic rituals and seances. They literally sold their souls and did lot of assigned spiritual destruction. Black Sabbath concerts mimicked black mass rituals while Ozzy Osbourne carried upside down crosses and Tommy Iommi played the "devil's notes" on purpose. I think every generation has their particular brand of demonic influence and in my teenage years and the dark metal was most prevelant. Thank God I have always had a relationship with the Lord who watched over me then and who gives me even more discernment now ✝️. I see them for what they are. ☠️ To this day people like Tommy Iommi, Jimmy Page, and Ozzy Osbourne are still unrepentant. It's sad really.

@@tuffstuff2U OMG, you're an idiot and a liar. None of that shit is true. Sabbath members wore regular crosses, not upside-down crosses, all of them are Christians, many of the songs are pro-God and others are anti-drug, Iommi played the "devil's tri-tone" because it sounded cool, and only found out later the stupid superstition surrounding it. So if that music "f**k*d with my head pretty good", maybe your head was just pretty f**k*d up to begin with, and frankly, you've allowed religion to do the same thing in the opposite direction. Stop blaming others for your mistakes, and start taking credit for the good things you do. God and Satan have nothing to do with either.

Heaven and hell, like everything there is. Yin Yang. And I agree with Ronnie James Dio that it's better to stay away from the dark side because it's dangerous. But it's good to know about the dark side and evil. So we have to stay safe, do healthy things and have a happy life. Music is great but it can also be destructive. And many musicians led destructive life-styles. We have to be careful. So I wanted to do this video about Rock 'N' Roll's dark side and mysticism which influenced rock musicians. And I also did a video about weird diseases in Rock 'N' Roll, that's very creepy actually. I believe that all those diseases are actually the same evil thing which ruins people's lives.

@@benjidigsag2284 I guess I didnt spell it out right. 1970s ...A rock band in 1972..average ages of band member 18-25. His parents would have been growing up in their teens by end of WWII- & into the Cold War which was just as terrifying for children & teens. Of course blues, rock-a-billy, some country was giving way to the clean cut rock-n-roll sounds of the 50s. The children of those people...who grew up listening to whatever their parents listened to, & no hard rock on radio- it hadn't evolved yet. They are the 70s rock artists. I called them children of WWII, I guess I should've said 'grandchildren'. When I think about WWII, it's pretty dark thoughts. I know Vietnam made many musicians passionate about their stance, some was dark & it showed in their music. Some was folk, blue grassy. Some was experimental & harder. By 1969-1970 we had some raw, hard, sometimes droning & dark sounds. In beginning of Deep Purple's, 'Sweet Child in Time' official video-you see young people outside the theatre or music hall waiting to get in. Elderly people walking by stop & look at these kids & you can almost tell what they're thinking as they look at how different kids look compared to their glory days- during WWII. Bands like those are who I am talking about. I just didn't express it properly. But a few people I guess knew what I meant. Bc that darkness was definitely there & by "shining a light on it"...it was their way of expressing how it affected them. Not literally.. But maybe in certain songs.

14:45--Hearing that a curse had succeeded in making Jimmy Page not being able to successfully write songs anymore in 1975, I offer "Achilles Last Stand" as a rebuttal. I don't think John Paul Jones wrote that nor "Royal Orleans" from that "Presence" LP. I'm not disputing the video but just that particular point.. But that being said, that is where the decline began. However that came about

As far as the Mr Crowley song goes, An good friend who had worked as a personal manager and had lived over in England with Black Sabbath for several years, some years later showed Ozzie the Crowley Book he had called Magick autographed and given to him by Jimmy Page. I saw this book with the inscription so I know it exists. It read "...for all the Alchemic Good Times. Thelemically yours, Jimmy Page..." After seeing the books inscription, Ozzie wrote..."Was it Thelemically sent-I wanna know what you meant..." and I also heard Ozzie confirm this songs relation to that particular book.

Crowley used to tell people his last name was pronounced like " Holy ". How bad do you have to be that Mussolini kicks you out of Sicily? The Beatles have Crowley's image on Sgt. Pepper at Lennon's request. Crowley, Churchill, and L. Ron Hubbard knew each other. Page went to visit Crowley's house in Cefalú, Sicily in the 70's. My Great Great grandfather was the mayor of that town. The house ( I believe ) is still there, and spooky. Magick has it's charm, but tapping into it can bite you. I'm a rocker musician that would rather go with Jesus these days. You can have that Black Magick stuff. Good data though... Thanks for posting!

Interesting to hear this stuff about jimmy Paige. I don’t really know much about him but knew his son James a little through my girlfriend. They gave me a different idea of what Jimmy might have been like in older age. But idk it could have been his son projecting ideas about his dad. But James seemed to be worried about his dads reaction to some of his decisions, thinking he would get in trouble. Personal stuff that’s not my place to say. I know he only would go to visit every now and then so maybe he just was unsure about a lot of things in that relationship.

Loved the video, you’ve definitely done your research on the house after Crowley in a way not often discussed. For those wondering about the current state of it, reconstruction has gone well with plans to open it up as a museum once completed. The museum won’t be dedicated to Crowley or Magick either as the house had a long and treasured history beforehand (ironically as a church).
