He earned lot of money and in a certain way he deserved every single cent of it considering the fact that he received cakes in his faces and other shit they trew on him. They treated him like shit they never respected because they saw this guy like the One who took profit and advantage from Cliff Burton Death

Love the band dio and the sound vivian brought however Ronnie's dorky D&D themes also hurt the band on top of getting rid of Vivian , so sad.

randy have more deep in hes sound, his death stop his music, but eddie is really good in my taste dont have the feel and technical melodies you can hear of randy, but eddies ego dont let him learn from others too much, like yngwie, at the end the most ego musician is the best to the most people, when you are influence you influence the other person too but someone has to think is the protagonist, life is more than that man¡¡

I'll be honest I always felt exactly the same way about Kirk's playing. His vibrato is horrible. He's clunky and his pitch is horrible. He doesn't play by ear at all. Kirk is an institution but he's just horrible. Metallica is however more popular and much richer than Yngwie!! Kirk is worth about $250 Million Yngwie is worth about $5 Million.

As for the reunion tour.... Yes, at first, the "flat rate" for Ace and Peter makes sense. Gene and Paul were at risk if the tour lost money. No one could guarantee it would be a hit. But... after just ONE WEEK of ticket sales (Detroit and Louisville sold out in minutes), they all knew the tour was going to make money...lots of it. I don't know where the line should have been, but there was a point--soon--that Gene and Paul should have reworked Ace and Peter's contracts so that they made a fairer share of the money. THEY KNEW that the tour would not have been a success without Ace and Peter. For the first time in over 15 years, Ace and Peter were ESSENTIAL, meaning people were literally coming to see THEM in the band again. So it was NOT RIGHT that Paul and Gene continued to lowball the other two. It led to another break up and this time completely unnecessary. Paul always said he based his decisions on the fans...but it was obvious by this point that Paul was just doing whatever Paul wanted, and to hell with the fans.

Peter didn't just leave Kiss, he left the Kiss sound and fanbase. His solo albums weren't bad, they just weren't what Kiss fans were interested in... and Pete never found a new audience. He once did a 'Bad Boys" tour with Ace, but nothing in the studio. Kills my soul that they never teamed up for new albums. I think they could have made at least a little splash out of it. Ace had the talent to go solo, but not the business discipline. Drugs held him back Eddie Trunk has covered this in detail). He put out one good album (Frehley's Comet), one good mini-album (Live +1), one bad album (Second Sighting), and one really good album (Trouble Walkin'). And then nothing solo for TWENTY YEARS--just two hits albums during the reunion era. He made money off of Kiss Psycho Circus but he only played on one song. Since 2009's Anomaly, Ace has been drug-free and actively producing solo albums, but it's a bit too little too late because most of the people who knew and loved him were aging out. The over-50 demographic buys very little music.

These musicians really do complain too much considering Dave did rise from the ashes and made a band in his own name…so yeah you are hired guns which get paid pretty decently….and aside from Japan whatever happened to just doing something you love if you are already financially stable…it’s not like you are offered peanuts

Jason was a success story that came from a horrible and very sad tragedy. I loved Cliff. Saw him play at the Summit in Houston in 1986 2 weeks prior to his death. He swung sweat all over my friend and I as he was windmilling his hair during Battery! Loved that guy. Then, in 87, enter Newstedman. He was perfect for the job. James and Kars were just absolute Douchebags to him and he never deserved any of it. Period. I bet, that if Cliff were still alive, he'd probably tell James n Lars that. It is of my opinion that James and Lars should have offered Jason a million dollars up front, just as they did to Trujillo. It is unjust and absolutely disrespectful how they did Jason. I am so happy that Jason was very frugal and smart with his investments and now is a real estate mogul as well as a multi-millionaire, Because Jason, out of everyone in Metallica, deserves it most, since he took so much abuse from these ungrateful dooders.

I enjoyed most of this feature, but Bonham and Blackmore never came to blows. That's 100% incorrect. They had words when Bonzo demanded Ritchie put on "Love on the Silver Mountain" at a posh party thrown by Blackmore. RB did not want to play his own records. Blackmore admits they had a bit of a stand-off, with Bonham growling, "I'm the fucking guest!", but Blackmore hadn't actually invited him, knowing posh parties were not his niche.😁 This is from both Blackmore and Colin Hart, and Jimmy Bain made reference to it as well. Jimmy also said that Ritchie and Cozy would physically fight each other at times.🤣 They were the same size.

According to Jason Newsted initially Metallica's management was going to help him get a contract, until Hetfield stepped in and convinced the band and management otherwise. Jason says, "The people that I had counted on for 15 years to help me with my career, help Metallica, take care of my money, do all of those things, told me, 'Your new project is fantastic, we'd like to help you with it.' James heard about it, the manager calls me back a couple of days later - 'Sorry we're not going to be able to help you with that Echobrain thing'."

Oh now I see James’ idea of how a side project could hurt Metallica or weaken it. I agree but it was sad to see Jason go. I see that Metallica needed 100% devotion. I suppose that is what kept and keeps them blasting through the decades Nice they took care of him and he’s now set financially. Aldo cool that they let him decide and didn’t just let him go. I do agree with the 100% devolution though they had that from day one though

You are a true scholar of Music Kar! I already knew Terry from seeing Bands is the San Gabriel Valley when I moved back in with my folks to go Cal Poly Pomona's School of Landscape Architecture. Terry would Love to jump on stage when another band had a gig & then get them to play "Red House." 'Back to the Future' had just come out, & as I pulled up at Terry"s place, there was a nice, bright Lambo parked in front, so my guess was right as Eddie was sitting on the couch with Terry across the room at his desk on the phone: "He's not here, Val" followed by "DON'T Call me Val!" blaring out through his phone as these 2 are covering their mouths to not giggle. So sitting next to Eddie, I asked him if that was him on the "Edward Van Halen" cassette Michael J. Fox slammed into a player to save his Dad, & he smiled and nodded. I encouraged him to do more instrumental work. Then, in talking about him playing piano, I found out that Eddie, my brother E.Y. and i all took piano lessons from Mrs. Reed about the same time (60s), and we would have periodic student recitals in different houses. While a Freshman at Irvine, I saw the Pure Food act in front of Pasadena City College on a rainy day. Soon after Harvey's band played at a club in Costa Mesa around 1971 and Roxie asking Harvey to play 'Leaving Trunk,' & he said 'We don't play that anymore.'

there's another fun part I can't go public with, or What the Hell. So IMHO the greatest band that never got discovered **Let's have a Contest! The first entry is Smile from the Pasadena area. All the Girls in the greater Pasadena area were suddenly talking about SMILE, so I went up to the Sunset in Sierra Madre to check them out. I found a seat at the bar, used the rest of my money to get my fave Vodka on the Rocks; squeeze of Lime. (My hands were just shaking as I now have 34 years sober..) ALL the Pasadena Area musicians (an more) were there to see SMILE. It was rare that something was more important (or interesting) than the drink I'd just paid for, but this evening my seat at the little Sunset bar in Sierra Madre was next to This Really interesting guy named Chris, whom I'm talking with as Terry slips up on my Right to reach and grab my drink. I'm like "Hey!!" as Chris says " I think Terry has an alcohol problem." Finding out who Chris was, imagine my OMG watching Chris in the swimming pool pouring Vodka over his head as his Mom )all lit up from the pool light at night) with her arms crossed in Penelope Spheris' movie...

Yes looks like Jason was paid very well but touring is also very expensive. You have to pay lots of people: drivers, cooks, roadies, assistants, managers… etc. You have to get them from town to town, get them hotels many nights, and feed them. Like Jason said, it cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars to take his band 'Newsted' around the world." In the 80s bands played live shows to promote their new albums. And then many bands started making money from touring and playing live and tickets became expensive. I think Jason became multi millionaire because Metallica people helped him to invest his money wisely. He got lots of money from merchandise.

I doubt he has very much money if he made 3 million dollars back in the 90's half of that went to taxes, so 1.5 million divided by 25 years since the year 2000 that is only $60,000 per year which is what an average person makes. Usually people do not make very much money selling real estate unless they flip it within 6 months for much more than they paid because you will have to pay property taxes and insurance also probably interest in most cases which eats up any increase in sales price versus purchase price.

I always laugh at the prospect of Mustaine trying to get Marty back in at various times. Marty has so much pull in the Japanese rock scene, that him being involved with Megadeth is basically like asking Jeff Bezos to work a shift at an Amazon packing center. If he chooses to, it would be purely to humor himself.
