I had never considered myself a super-fan of anything before I came across Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page. I Immediately started practicing for hours on end in my room after hearing the mother ship album on a road trip to Florida. This changed my whole perspective on what music I wanted to listen to, and play. Which eventually turned me on to the blues (Lightnin' Hopkins, Muddy, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf etc..) and even jazz. Right now quite taken with the Bossa Nova.(Antonio Carlos Jobim "Wave" plus Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto "Girl from Ipanema.") I was 18 at the time, I am now 21 and heading off to St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia in the fall to fulfill my dream of becoming a legitimate musician and performer. I have the utmost respect for all four members of the band, and I would not be running down the dream I have chosen without them. I am forever in their debt and will never forget the impact these four have had on my life.

I don't think he's frustrated with him, he's just stating the facts, he'd love to do it again so would Jason and JPJ , but Roberts not into it , and that's just the truth. There's really no other way to answer that question every time it comes up. A TOUR WOULD BE GREAT... BUT IF ROBERT DOESN'T WANT TO DO THAT MAYBE JIMMY CAN CONVINCE HIM OF ONE LAST ZEPPELIN ALBUM OF NEW MATERIAL KIND OF KICK THE MUSIC WORLD IN ITS ASS ONE LAST TIME, YOU KNOW BONZO WOULD BE ALL FOR IT ESPECIALLY WITH JASON ON DRUMS , COME ON ROBERT DO IT FOR BONZO !! AND SHOW THAT DUDE FROM GRETA VAN FLEET HOW IT'S DONE !!!!
@stephenbrindley2465 жыл бұрын
The problem with Plant is his huge ego.He really does belive that without him there's no more Led Zepp. After their 02 gig Plant could not wait to say there would be no more gigs.Jimmy Page was crushed if you watch the interview you can see it for yourselves.Egos and bands never really work in the long run..
@joeyhuebner105 жыл бұрын
@@stephenbrindley246- Plant has stated before that there is no Zeppelin without John Bonham. Saying his ego is getting in the way of a reunion couldn't be further from the truth. There is also the fact that Plant cannot sing the way he used to, and at the consistency in which he did it. Robert said in a recent interview that he doesn't want to dishonor Zeppelin by "going out there and faking it". That's ultimately why he rearranges the old numbers (other than to keep it interesting), because without Bonzo, the songs would lack that groove and finesse that only John Bonham could bring to them.
@lindylou72274 жыл бұрын
Robert had his own career by that time and that had to be more important than a Led Zep tour for him. I understand that.

Seeing Page talk about how he cant speak for Robert too reform with Zeppelin is such a downer - you can tell this guy wants to do it more then anything, he just wants to play Zeppelin music to the fans but its Robert that has that decision no one else, like Page said it wont be the same without him on vocals, it isn't complete but all in all Robert aside Jimmy is the heart of the band. He's the pure heartbeat that keeps Zeppelins ethos intact and his passion is limitless. Completely limitless and for that he's not only amazing but he's loyal to us Zeppelin fans. What more could we ask of him. I still have my fingers crossed for the future but ill always love Page and if i can never see him live then so be it, changes nothing of my love for that man.

@wongyt2010 жыл бұрын
eatthisvr6 How does that even make sense? "the beast was the heart of Zeppelin". You talk absolute dribble when you think you're talking common sense.......Beast!?. Jimmy is the ethos that has kept Zeppelin intact over all these years hence the fucking fact he's so adamant on giving us another reunion. The beast is the heart of Zeppelin....because that makes sense!! He's not only the brain he's everything. Just bare in mind right now and put it into full perspective whilst your at it. If there was no Jimmy page then there would definitely be no Led Zeppelin, there's your answer. 'Never mind 'The Beast'.
@Scoobydcs10 жыл бұрын
wongyt20 jimmy is the brain of zeppelin bonham drove them on stage if you cant hear that when they play then i feel very sorry for you. zeppeiling wouldnt have been zeppelin if ANY of the 4 left/died it really was a sum of all its parts
@wongyt2010 жыл бұрын
eatthisvr6 I totally agree with you on all accounts especially about Bonham i'm just expressing how important Page is to Zep. At least out of the three remaining he wants Zeppelins legacy to have more story's i.e performing again as well as JPJ. I know Zeppelin don't owe anyone anything anymore they've broken there backs as musicians over the years why should they just reform because people like me want them too, i'm not begging for another reunion. I just admire Page's drive to wanting another one being the fact its a now or never scenario he's still fired up to go back from the 2007 gig, this is why i say he is the heart of the band and if 'hearts' to rewarding then i guess i can settle with brain!

I've said it a thousand times, and I'll say it a thousand more....Led Zep were four musicians peaking together at the same time with the freedom to play as themselves. Rare. Nearly unmatched. With the attributes that are paid to them, the unsung hero is Peter Grant. He, as their manager, had their trust that they would never be ripped off. Grant's cut from the band was 20%, from which he paid himself and staff. HE did the business end allowing the musicians to be musicians. When they signed on the "dotted" line, they KNEW they were getting the best deal. 80% were the band's to be divided the way THEY saw fit. Uncanny! Grant's genius was cutting out all the middle men. No promoters. No ticket agents. No vendors. Zeppelin rented the stadiums. They sold the t-shirts, tickets, ect...Mr Grant recognized he had a cash cow. By keeping the "cows" fat and happy, the more milk they would produce. More milk. More money. I'd like to read a book on him.
@joycej928Ай бұрын

His Legacy is intact. LZ and the Beatles are unquestionably the Mozarts of our generation to the benefit and pleasure of all future generations. My hope is that JP enjoys playing for enjoyment with his peers and friends and just seeing what develops. I think it would be cool if there were some private forum where our greatest musicians could just jam without any pressure to produce anything, but record it all so if they all do get a hold of something special they could mutually agree to release it for charity.

You know what's really nice, is I remember few, several times that Tony, or Ozzy, would tell me what was going on with the album, when they might want to release it, where, what was going on with current politics they felt in the area, and if it was going to pass for some reason, anybody, what we thought the title of the album should be or not. I felt from like the time I was 1-2 very informed with the people excited to see how it would be recieved and changing, taking place in them - cuz the people are bad and evil and they are not aquainted on how to accept stuff. As, it was a learning experience for me too. I am glad that I did not have to feel stepped on, forgotton about or unimportant, because I felt Black Sabbath as that group - did not take advantage of the system, and were more than available to take critisizm- which never came from me (only from themselves) or these supposed fans they are supposed to have! When we asked you to not do anything over Sabbath - maybe you don't understand as ur fukin artist critique selves - we meant - "you would not put out any albums anywhere!" And, did you notice we did that as a group, no back and forth, no maybe. I decided what I wanted and to be quite honest ur system of John Paul (and Plant doesn't look too good either) was stealing from us. Sorry, guess we should have had a bttr conversation in 73, when I was told what I wanted and how it would be, but I didn't get a chance to relay that and walked away. None the less, those aren't ur friends, I guarntee, I spent a lot of time at it, and honestly Jimmy, if I was gonna put a dollar amount on it, sorry Robert, but about how much would you be owing me? And I mean that sincerely, cuz i don't wanna be ever buying ur albums looking at our hostage Black Sabbath situation - where I fuking chose, get that? Thank You. Have a nice day! : )

Jimmy Page keeps saying that he cannot speak about re-forming Led Zeppelin because Robert Plant is unwilling. However, Robert Plant always blames the unwillingness of Page and Baldwin to discuss it. In Plant's 60 Minutes interview this last spring, he said "Well then you need to speak to the Capricorns, because I have nothing to do in 2015". One of these men is not telling us the truth about themselves and from this interview and the emotion in Page's answer, I begin to believe it is Plant that does not want to work with the others. I would love to see the two interviewed together with someone brave enough to put them on the spot together.
@MrHoW2Guitar10 жыл бұрын
I'm not trying to be a dick becaus I love all of them and I respect them. But you watch interviews wit the three of them and robert always almost always jumps the interviewer about it. Jimmy and jonesy are always open about it. So I think robert just wants to work on his own. I think robert still has a hard time about zeppelin, loosing his best friend, the band breaks up and he is lonely, he gets a divorce. So I can't blame any of them nor should we speak for them
