The bottom line here is, Page’s house is a very important house. If Williams had got what he wanted, without doubt it would have caused damage to the interior decoration in Page’s house. Williams wanted a huge underground complex. Pool, gym etc and the passageway was to the house from that. Page was right. Look up house extensions in London. Houses have collapsed from these works. They dig down under your house and sometime the house has just fallen down. Look it up.

That is what Page was worried about.

You cannot say “without a doubt” Page’s home would have been damaged in any way without some sort of site survey showing vibration analysis based on structural, geotechnical, and construction engineering.

I just recently heard that joke told by a really old man in a café near Emmett Idaho. He turned out to be a member of the western swing Hall of Fame. The way he told it a guy had killed his wife with two guitars and that was his response when he was in front of the judge. It was a very memorable day. A brother-in-law who knows a pot farmer in Oregon and I had just come back from checking out the harvest. I can’t smoke that stuff. It’s too strong nowadays. But everybody else was partaking as a batch of dogs including mine frolicked all over the property. It was very cool. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏻

I don't blame Page one bit. His house is a historic William Burges home built in the 1800's. Williams wanted to build something that would undoubtedly impacted the foundation of the historic home. Don't blame Page one bit. Williams is the neighbor from hell, not the other way around. Has nothing to do with "noise levels", but everything to do with heavy equipment vibration levels. The houses are very close to each other.

Good to see you back and S Posting again. Jimmy may not be the neighbor from hell. One would have to see all of the facts before we can criticize Jimmy Page's position. Old buildings often have somewhat delicate foundation construction, stacked stone, etc., that have "settled in" with the surrounding earth if you will. Hard to predict what kind of subsidence is possible, even if we could observe the foundation, etc. I just had a case where an old building burned down. The new construction, far less intrusive than a "super basement," most likely contributed to several problems both structural and with water tightness to the neighboring building. Jimmy's concern is not coming from some crazy place. My guess is that Page has had an engineer look at it and advise him that the "super basement" construction is too close and there is a high risk of damage. I am 100% with you on property rights, but there are some rules that we can live with. You can't have a pig farm in a subdivision, and sometimes you can't build a super basement, etc. right next to priceless historic mansions. Additionally, he's Jimmy Fucking Page, I'm on his side even if he is wrong.

My neighbor has a SHOOTING RANGE 25 yards from my window. So I put in ear plugs, put on large headphones, and then crank up the volume until I can no longer hear it. My other neighbors 200 yards away were popping fireworks at 2 am last Tuesday. So far since moving in August I haven`t hooked up my mixer and large PA speakers and subwoofer after making a half gallon of moonshine. I`ve simply been practicing through small monitor speakers. Getting closer and closer to doing a full fledged Hank Jr concert in my camper. The virus messed up my vocals which is very strange and I`ve been trying hard to retrain my voice. It`s so different now with a ton of uncontrollable vibrato that actually probably sounds pretty good but just feels so bizarre to me. I always took singing for granted until I got this scare and was forced to have to learn again how to sing a bunch of songs that were once easy.

I think that much of the Jimmy Page house problem is that the excavations next door to dig out for the basement, will be deeper than the foundations of the Page property and could cause ground instability. There has been a few cases in London of neighbouring properties collapsing after basement excavations next door.

@Richard Harrold Nicely put. Listening to Brad go on with BS. Really cheapens any credibility he may have had. What would Brad feel like if he were in J.P’s position. The key word you mentioned, Richard is ‘Custodian’. All he has to do is actually take a look at the pictures of the interior that he’s showing in his article to see the exemplary condition of ‘The Tower House’👀 It’s a Grade One Listed building. If it was irreparably damaged due to aggressive drilling, it’s too late then. Brad clearly doesn’t understand the power of these pneumatic drills. Or the fragility of 19th century building foundations. PS. It’s worth noting that in the ‘D!ckhead stakes’ Robbie Williams would hold that trophy 🏆 May the Force be with you.🌀 Jim🌀 (-: :-)

@Richard Harrold Nice chronicle. Btw, I’m from London. The Tower House is in the Holland Park area (south side) near Kensington High St. I used to have a Basement Photography studio on the north side of the park near Bayswater. In a 5 story building. I was shocked when having some building repairs to sewage pipes, brickwork and footings. To see foundations of less than 3 feet. Not very substantial for a lot of the buildings in that area. Certainly wouldn’t be up to code these days. So I can understand where Jimmy Page is coming from. I’d be nervous too. (-: :-)

To be fair Page lives in a beautiful historical home and Williams was digging a basement/pool below his house which was causing cracks in Jimmy’s place. Criminal. I don’t believe Robbie writes his own songs. He had a hit with a song by Karl Wallinger She’s the One and tried to claim it as his own. Page doesn’t play loud guitar in that house because of its fragility. Page is in the right here.

Digging these big underground structures under London mansions has been a real estate trend there for a while. Especially swimming pools. It's a clever workaround to all the historic red tape you mentioned, just build down if you can't build up or whatever. Whenever a building project digs down in a place like that, they run the risk of happening upon an archeological site. Happens all the time. For example, they found the bones of King Richard the 3rd, the humpback king from the Shakespeare play, they found the real man's grave under a parking lot.

Old Europe has a lot of entrenched bureaucracy and rules Americans would never imagine. You never have control over the land in Europe as you would in the states. Also, in Switzerland they have red light and speed cams all over, you can't flush your toilet after 8pm if you live in an apartment because it's considered disturbing the peace, and if you move your car in your own driveway after 5pm you get a citation for unnecessary emissions. It's another world. Unfortunately, too many Americans are willing to send us down that road, and I say HELL FUCKING NO!

I am with Page on this one. Robbie Williams, or "The fat dancer from Take That" according to Noel Gallagher, is pretty obnoxious. Page was right to get the underground gym knocked back at the planning stage and allegedly Williams made his displeasure known by going full "Operation Nifty Package" and supposedly blasted Page with Sabbath and Floyd tracks from speakers set up outside whenever he stepped out of the house as Williams figured they were Page's rivals in the 70s and it would annoy him. Richard Harris had the house before Page. Now that is a guy you would never go to war with over a neighbourly spat.

@The Guitologist Brad, an incredible preamp for the old mics is the *Electronics Projects For Musicians book, Project #1- Preamp* . A great mic is the *Electro Voice 676* a.k.a. Jim Morrison. I've had one for years that I used to record with. Being a curious teen I took it apart and discovered the long side 'vent' is indeed a mic. Such a smooth, crisp, solid sounding mic. I love the optional chrome angled mount unit, which seems to be on most for 676's for sale. Dude you have a great channel. I've been building and tweaking amps for 40 years. It's a blast! Hey demo a Fender Tone Ring some time. My buddy's drip edge era tone ring cab with it's original 15" JBL D130F speaker sounds incredible with his '65 Bassman. Excellent design! Conversely, I played through a 10" Vibrolux Tone Ring cab next to identical one without the ring. They sounded the same. A 10" speaker cab really is too small for the tone ring system to even work.

@The Guitologist Hey Brad, just an idea you might be very interested in sharing. There is a current campaign to save the former historic mansion of Hank Williams senior, Beechwood Hall in Franklin Tennessee. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill even owned the mansion for a time... Celebs like Kid Rock, Vince Neil, and Mike from American Pickers have gotten in on the campaign to try and save the historic Antebellum estate from a California developer. The Developer purchased the property under the guise of restoring and living in the mansion, even donating a substantial amount to the local preservation society... Immediately afterwards the owner hired an architect to "assess the restoration " of the home, but upon arriving the property owner made it known their intent to begin demolishing the home (weird you'd do that, but that's what happened... my guess is they figured the architect would be a cover to justify and sign off on the demolition ) ... The Architect quit out of good conscience, stating the home was sound and could very easily be restored... He blew the whistle on the whole situation instead of taking a check and playing ball and jumpstarted the campaign to save the property... which is exactly the kind of guy I like to see supported. The home is even listed on the National Registry of Historic Places... I certainly believe you and your audience would be very interested in this subject matter and can get the word out to help save this irreplaceable piece of American AND Country Music history...

I'm retired and work part time now for Livenation Entertainment, mainly so I can see all the free shows I want and make a few extra bucks. I can assure you, at least at our venues, the drones are not coming in with people through the gates. What's happening at our venues is someone is operating the drones outside of the venue and they eventually get shutdown by security IF they can locate the pilot. Most of the time they are and they are banned for life from our venues. The police will try and confiscate the drone if legal in that state. They will document the incident along with a picture of the perpetrator and if you are ever caught again entering the venue you immediately get arrested and prosecuted for trespassing and any other charges they can pin on you and although they're not actively looking for you, if you ever enter again and are recognized by any staff, or security cam ops, you're toast! My advice is leave the drone at home, come on in and enjoy the show like someone with some damn sense. Also, our family visited London years ago and took a really cool tour of a bunch of R&R landmarks. Places like Jimi Hendrix's London flat and Abbey Roads Studio (somewhere I've got a pic of me, the wife and my 2 daughters replicating the famous Beatles' Abbey Rd. crossing right outside the studios) Also saw Jimmy Page's house. It looked like it would make a great setting for film a horror film.

Well they are Jewish after all. Kiss has always been a carnival side show focused on marketing and merchandising rather than an actual band of real musicians. Of course that's just one goyim opinion.

I got a drum stick in my head at a gig once. The worst part is that it was not even a real band. It was some kinda recording of a movie and they just needed to have the crowd for filming it.

Hi Brad! Really enjoyed this one, good to see you back doing SPF! Don't take this as complaining, but you could get better vid quality if you set up lights so that your face doesn't blow out with the whit balance. Like the setup you have there and that mic sounds GOOD!! 😎🤟

Yeah, problem is the distance I have to work with. If I push the lights too close to the green screen, it lights too unevenly. I'll work on it though.

Page is right. Any excavation in an area like that could possibly cause the ground to shift a bit. Not a good thing for ancient buildings like that. Even a change in the moisture content could cause the ground to contract.

Love SPF! Just to let you know, with a bbe sonic maximizer, you are time aligning frequencies to your particular monitors/headphones. It's the most deceiving piece of gear ever. Because as you are using it, it is a drastic improvement to your ears. But you are time aligning your lows vs. your highs. But the kicker is that every speaker is very different, and what is good for one may be way off, for another. It is essentially a speaker tuning device. ie, dj's/live sound etc.
@nobodynoone2500

If that bugs you, don't even look into EQ phase shift. The BBE is okay, but trust your ears when setting it up or even deciding to use one.

Kiss should just license their image to a Vegas show. Then let some other band dress up as them and perform. I feel like people would still buy tickets to that. I could see them calling it the KISS Alive! Concert Experience. Then once the Vegas one takes off they could set one up in every tourist trap in the country.

First of all, Merry Christmas one and all. After selling his soul to the devil, he still had a hard time keeping that Les Paul in tune. I think I would have put into my contract "hey split foot, keep my guitars in perfect tune at all time or I'm not signing and if you don't like it then you can go to hell red boy." lol...
