Well so were Mick Taylor and Keith. They hired a guitarist like Taylor in 1969 because all the bands at the time had flashy lead guitarist. Blind Faith. Deep purple. They needed that sound. Jimmy probably loved Keith’s rhythm he loved Chuck Berry and one of his early favorites was Rumble by Link Wray. And you don’t get heavier rhythm than that.

Keith catches hell about the quality of his playing all the time, regardless of the monstrous legendary riffs & hits he's created ... Here we have one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time paying Keef homage ... "Keith was like a locomotive on that Chuck Berry stuff .. no one i know can play that like him" ... Then we have a Mick verse from STAR STAR.. "Jimmy Page was all the rage .. we could not see the reason why" .. "The Stones were the band everyone wanted to be IN or ASSOCIATED WITH... "They were more than a band ... They were a lifestyle and an attitude" ... Rolling Stone Magazine .... Even the magazine named itself after them .....

"You're probably wondering what we're trying to do. It's hard to say: sort of a magazine and sort of a newspaper. The name of it is Rolling Stone which comes from an old saying, "A rolling stone gathers no moss." Muddy Waters used the name for a song he wrote. The Rolling Stones took their name from Muddy's song. "Like a Rolling Stone" was the title of Bob Dylan's first rock and roll record. We have begun a new publication reflecting what we see are the changes in rock and roll and the changes related to rock and roll." Jann Wenner
