The first time i ever actually heard him talk was when i saw The Firm in 1984. I mean, being a Zep fan all that time, i had NEVER heard him talk. I don't think people who have the internet now realize how different things were back then. I was astounded just to hear his voice. Now, hearing all of these things on here is so cool. Back then? I think it all just added to the mystery.

Still loves it. But never was aware of it when it was new, even though I was. ?

Jimmy realized that Led Zeppelin’s contribution to world music was assured to be as historical as what Mozart’s work was/is. So, he worked continually for decades to accumulate, catalogue Zeps works...to basically ensure their entire body of work would be curated forever. It’s also why he never receded into the background of life and music. He availed himself to all the media types, documentaries, etc so their history came from the source. How proud he is of what they created. I was 14 when I first heard them. With my taste already being true-rooted rock and R&B (blues foundation), I was literally absorbed in awe and stunned with new emotions and then realized how important music truly is. I had no idea then about the lyrics at that age. So, every year of listening to them, I was continually given new surprises as I matured. In my late 60’s now, I can stumble upon a lyric or a sound that still manages to astound me. The top two bands (Zeppelin and Pink Floyd) were so pioneering...with two completely different genres...they remain the top two. So many GREAT musicians soon followed due to the influences of them both, realizing rock was now no “fad”. Because of Zep and Floyd, rock went from trendy in late 50’s to a dead serious and eternal genre...left in the hands of all the future geniuses musicians.

I hope he can work on the materials he has during the years of zeppelin/yardbirds and release more live albums instead of making that silly "autobiography". I mean, since he always empathizes that music is which really matters, why he think it is more meaningful publishing pictures of himself and his fancy clothes than putting more effort into music? I believe people would be more gladly paying for albums rather than a old man's memorial.
