Yep. It's so different to a normal male voice, not necessarily abnormal but definitely out of the norm - his range and pitch is much higher obviously and it shouldn't work.......but it does. He's so smooth lyrically and each key just fades into the next effortlessly - like a ghost gliding through a wall. He's incredible.

I am crying to my soul right now. He hits me so hard with that unique voice of his. Smalltown Boy came years too late in my life. I was alone and afraid for so long. This song had such an impact back then. Hearing him sing it now, I feel the old pain again. But now it is comforted with realizing where I've come from and where I am now at 57. Bless you, Jimmy, a hero for so many of us.

The most moving version of this song I have ever heard. Done originally when HIV was starting to claim thousands and being gay was often tough. The Communards did covers in the 80's that were better than the original. After all these years Jimmy, you've still got it mate.
