I sat with my father and kept him company as he took his last breath on 07/15/23. He was a great Man, Husband and Dad. He was always involved with my sports, scouts and karate lessons. He taught me how to hunt, fish and survive while doing it. I took care of him the last 8 years as his vision and mobility faded, he always said "I am sorry to be a burden to you", but I told him he had given me so much when I was younger that I felt it was only right that I help him in his golden years. Good Dad's are loved and truly missed when they are gone.

I had a great relationship with my dad BUT I was saved the day I saw and heard this video for the first time. I just moved back from Los Angeles. I had basic cable turned back on and the country music channel was now included, oh well OK I thought. I was listening to this song and half way through the video God hit me over the head! It was then I realized who the true Christ was. The hair stood up on the back of my neck and I cried and cried. I have been a changed person in Christ now for 10 years! My country music cable was turned off a week later and I called the cable company, they informed me I never had this channel, and it didn't come with basic cable! Interesting huh!? ;)

One day i was having a hard time i ask God what am going to do if life is so very hard i hurt this much what is going to be like in few years. I cried and ask God why is my path so hard. I feel asleep and it qas vision not a dream. I was walking down a path when i look up their was Jesus and he said let talk we sat under the most beautiful tree and there was wind soft and warm a fild was so beautiful and amazing. I look at Jesus and with a tear in my eyes I said what am going to do. He hut his hand on my face and hugged me and whisper in my ear it will always be ok. His hug was the kind that was filled with love and kindness and the kind you long for your whole life. I woke up told my parents fww days later what happened to me they were amazed. I just lost my father On Dec 1st this year and He loved me so much, always there for me and my sister and everyone that knew him. This song makes me cry, because just seeing him being on that other side, it makes me sad. But knowing he is no longer hurting and that he is in Heaven with Angel with Golden Wings. Your daughter has a bumpy confusing rode ahead of her. She will cry on father's day and at daddy daughter stuff at school and all you can do is comfort her and show her your unconditional love. I don't know why, I just randomly remembered this song. I had a radical encounter with Jesus last year, and I was laying in bed with my three-year-old telling her how she's God's favorite, and I'm God's favorite, and how much He loves us. And I thought of the words, "I'm waiting on you to make up your mind, do you love Me too?" and "I'm never giving up." And man, He didn't. Thank God He didn't. People think Jesus died on the cross to save them from sin, and He did, but it's more than that. He died to restore us back to what we had in the beginning before there was sin. God created us with value, and Jesus purchased us because of that value. Finding out my worth changed everything.

Awesome song that touches even those that had/have a fathers in their lives. As I my father did not have a father he was not the best, but he tried in his own way. Having said this, when I had my own children I made sure that I just didn't try, but succeeded and with God's blessings that is just what I did.

this song has so much meaning to me. my father left me before I was even born and 16 years later I still wish I was like other girls and got the daddy daughter moments I never got. but now he's happy with his two little boys and baby girl. he claims he loves me but whatever he's done nothing to prove it. so why believe him. I hurt so bad internally.

I've been in similar shoes. After my parents divorced when I was a toddler, I never received a birthday card and hardly ever a phone call. I moved around alot as a kid, so there was always instability. I even lived with him for awhile and learned he's extremely passive aggressive and that there's a difference between being there and actually being there physically. My grandfather said it's important for me to know that although my father doesn't ever say it, or express the emotion, he loves me and that I should keep reaching out to him every now and then. I trusted grandpa, so I did just that. I was in my 20s when he started to open up and respond. Love is supposed to be a two way street, but sometimes it's only one-way. It's then that we have to be patient but active so the road can be repaired.

Britny, I get it...I struggled with it while growing up and my daughter had a deadbeat dad too. If I can give you any comfort, I will tell you what I told my daughter... sometimes ppl just are not in the right state of mind..they blew it and they missed out on great kids that they will never really get to know but take comfort in knowing that the one dad that loves you so much is there with you every moment of every day and that is your Heavenly Father and He will never leave your side...no greater love.
